Prosecutor Francois Molins said that as a result of the efforts, which left two dead and eight under arrest, "another terrorist team has been neutralized."
Sad that an innocent puppy had to die thanks to a twisted fucking cunt, but good job on the French authorities.
Yeah. Still.... 5000 rounds and the only fatality was a pussy suicide bomber? (So far, that I've read about)
Yeah. Still.... 5000 rounds and the only fatality was a pussy suicide bomber? (So far, that I've read about)
It takes thousands of rounds to kill an insurgent. They wear really strong armor
Yeah. Still.... 5000 rounds and the only fatality was a pussy suicide bomber? (So far, that I've read about)
what is suppression.
what is suppression.
That to me says the military conducted the raid rather than the police. Police pretty much never use covering fire.
That to me says the military conducted the raid rather than the police. Police pretty much never use covering fire.
It wasn't beat cops, it was RAID and BRI. Maybe others, but those are the symbols I saw on the Sky News feed.

(So far, that I've read about)
Not everyone is a crackpot shot that has every bullet they fire hit the target they want. Most bullets in any fire fight don't hit people on either side. Plus, with the reinforced door the terrorists had, I'm sure both sides had well-made cover that prolonged the fight.
Against an equally armed opponent in close quarters you need to provide covering fire to keep their head down while allowing you and your team to maneuver and gain the advantage. Police normally are never put in a situation where covering fire is required, but it's not standard procedure to engage multiple armed and trained criminals with automatic weapons that are not afraid of using them. I mean hell, the police had to use grenades according to the press conference, and he wasn't referring to non-lethal. I can't imagine the fury of that engagement.
It sounds like France has been letting these groups lurk around with monitoring for sometime, and with the recent attacks they've decided to round them all up?
I read a rumor that a cellphone was found in a trash bin at the Bataclan theatre, with a message sent to a contact saying something along the lines of "let's start now, yes?" in French, and authorities tracked the location of that contact. Not sure if this is true at all, though.
Where'd it say that in the article?
It wasn't in this article but it's been public knowledge that a K9 unit named Diesel was killed when a female suspect detonated a suicide vest, preventing french comrades from meeting a similar fate. The Dog was a 7 year old female Belgian Sheepdog known as 'Diesel' was NOT a puppy. She was a fucking hero. Citation
The Belgian Sheepdog named Diesel is said to have died as it made its way through an apartment building ahead of a tactical team to look for booby traps and explosives. As the dog was going about its mission a woman wearing a suicide vest and toting an AK-47 suddenly appeared, blowing herself up shortly after engaging police. During that exchange and explosion, Diesel was killed, the BBC reports. Five members of the police team were also lightly injured during the engagement. The attackers who were sacked by the RAID team are said to have been about to strike Charles de Gaulle International Airport and a major shopping district in central Paris.
That to me says the military conducted the raid rather than the police. Police pretty much never use covering fire.
The French GIGN will. When the GIGN decide that your day needs to be fucked up, they're gonna fuck it up. I'm sure the RAID guys I saw aren't dissimilar when dealing with an apartment full of terrorists connected with those who slaughtered 140 civilians. Hell, the GIGN will throw fucking grenades. I just remember the Air France raid, shit was insane Don't get on France's bad side, jesus
The dog is more of a hero than many of us will ever be

Here's a 17 minute interview with one of the French officers that took part in the shoot out with the terrorists in Paris AND St Denis. It's in english http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=8a7_1448019728
Holy fuck, crazy that the place doesn't look like swiss cheese after that.
Holy fuck, crazy that the place doesn't look like swiss cheese after that.
It's crazy, it's almost something out of a warzone, heard the roof feel in as well. Not surprising considering suicide bomber and over five thousand shots fired only by the police.
It sounds like France has been letting these groups lurk around with monitoring for sometime, and with the recent attacks they've decided to round them all up?
From what I saw reported, the state of emergency allows them to do things the law normally wouldn't allow, raids without warrants etc

Pretty crazy series of events there, and apparently the terrorists were planning to fly the plane into the Eiffel Tower.
