• Sky Broadband - I've went over my bandwidth limit again?!?

We have had sky broadband for about 2 years nearly, we were on the basic package last year but then in November 2009 we downloaded over 15GB of files. We had never went over our bandwidth limit of 5GB even though I download loads and play games and such. In January we had went over the limit in December and January which they then auto upgraded us and I was happy because my parents wouldn't upgrade our internet package (But I get 7MB/S from the previous 1MB/s xP and I also have to pay them -.-) Anyway, since this has happened I have been doing the casual stuff on the internet, I haven't downloaded any large files or anything like that, and with our new internet package (Sky broadband anytime) we have 10GB bandwidth limit. I have went over the limit again.. Since we went over by a lot in November though it seems as if sky is watching our bandwidth usage a lot or maybe I could have a virus or something? :S What I do on the computer: Visit general forums and a lot of FTP uploading and downloading, but only of text elated files and images which aren't very big at all. Watch youtube videos. Use MSN a lot. Use Steam a lot. Do online work stuff on a MMORPG game which I spend a lot of time on and get paid for that so it isn't pointless ¬.¬ Computer on from 7am - 8am 3:30pm - 9pm (school days) (All in above list) Laptop on from 9pm - 11pm (school days) (Internet and MSN) Phone on from 11:30pm - 1am (school days) (MSN and internet) Computer on from 7:30am - 9:30pm (non-school days) (All in above list) Laptop on from 10pm - 11pm (non-school days) (Internet and MSN) Phone on from 11:30pm - 2am (non-school days) (MSN and internet) What could be eating all my bandwidth? :colbert:
Does someone else use the internet? And I would check to see if your computer is running any uneeded tasks using the internet.
Does someone else use the internet? Also id I print screen my task manager and show you the processes would that help?
Oh god I would die with that bandwidth limit. My family uses about 5tb of bandwidth a month.
Oh god I would die with that bandwidth limit. My family uses about 5tb of bandwidth a month.
So your family downloads approximately 166.6GB a day, or 6.94GB an hour, or ~7111MB an hour, or 118.5MB a minute, or a constant 1.975MB/s all 24 hours a day? [editline]12:37PM[/editline] In a 30 day month this is.

Bandwidth limits suck. Good thing we don't have them in Denmark.
What the OP is using the net for will easily chew 10gb a month.
Oh god I would die with that bandwidth limit. My family uses about 5tb of bandwidth a month.
Yeah. Whatever.
What the OP is using the net for will easily chew 10gb a month.
Oh damn :C I guess I'm gonna have to pay £10 a month for unlimited bandwidth then.. [editline]12:00PM[/editline] Also my internet is running like crap since I went over the limit, would this be related to that and sky maybe trying to stop me going over by loads more?

I have 50gb, when I go over it's throttled to 64k. That's 8kb/sec max throughput. :crying: I pay $109.95 AUD/month. US: $99.80/month. Fucking Australia being a fucking expanse of nothingness.
I got a 50gb limit, we only go over that in the summer break.
Im on virgin, they throttle your connection if you download too much between the hours of 9am and 9m :( So I just leave my downloads on over night, no cap then and it usually runs at full speed 1mbs :)

I have Sky broadband Unlimited, no limits here :) up to 20mb/s download, Only £10 a month nothing much
I have Sky broadband Unlimited, no limits here :) up to 20mb/s download, Only £10 a month nothing much
Thats pretty damn good.
I still stand by BE Broadband in the UK. Unlimited. Proper Unlimited. No fucking shitty fair use clauses etc. I could DL 5TB a week if I wanted to, they won't throttle it.
I got a 50gb limit, we only go over that in the summer break.
Good I just got charter and my limit is 100 gigs and I wasn't sure how close I would get.
I still stand by BE Broadband in the UK. Unlimited. Proper Unlimited. No fucking shitty fair use clauses etc. I could DL 5TB a week if I wanted to, they won't throttle it.
basically
Move to Europe, we don't have bandwidth limit at all, most of us haven't even heard about it.

I've never once had to think about how much I download, and I've never been throttled since I switched to Be last year, I love them. :v:
Move to Europe, we don't have bandwidth limit at all, most of us haven't even heard about it.
Sky is in the UK.
Shit, $40 a month here gets you 10 mbps/1 mbps with no cap.

You're brother is probably fapping to furry porn
If there's anything I like about my ISP (Eastlink), it's that there's no bandwidth limit.
