• £700 budget-ish for gaming and recording/mixing

I've been using a Dell laptop for 3 years. It's time to move on. I can barely run Minecraft and had to play through Oblivion with the draw distance so low I couldn't see anything. I know nothing about anything computer hardware related, but my dad has built a few computers and knows what he's doing so I'm just looking for parts + where to order. He suggested I buy from Novatech or Dell so I figured I do my own research (get Facepunch to do it for me.) I'm in the UK, I'll also need a keyboard and monitor. On this budget I'm not hoping to get anything top of the range but I'd like to be able to run new releases (especially Skyrim. I must be able to play Skyrim on at least medium settings without it dragging behind.) Also Battlefield 3, Minecraft, New Vegas, TF2. God I've missed out on so much. I also record through an Line 6 UX2 interface, but I'm pretty sure it's not compatible with Windows 7. Anyway, I do a lot of recording in Reaper (hoping to upgrade to Cubase but one thing at a time...) with VST plugins so I'll need enough RAM to handle it. I'm not sure what the prices are like right now, so if my budget's too low . I'll have to leave it for a while. On the other hand, the less I can spend the better (£700 is already kind of a stretch, I've got things to go on eBay.) Thanks.

He needs a monitor and keyboard and £150 for a 460? Fuck that. Harddrive here: http://www.kikatek.com/product_info.php?products_id=130624 Decent seller £701 total, scan/kikatek not including OS, but I'm un-sure on what OS you're looking for..
Windows 7 Home Premium I suppose.
