• Which CPU cooler should I get?

I just received my payment, so I was thinking to get a DECENT CPU cooler for my AMD phenom II X6 1055T. Cause this cheap alloy block is noisy as hell and barely does the job. ANYWAYS, I have been looking at the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 EVO, is it any good, if not, which CPU cooler is the best to get on a low budget line? My budget is about 35 euros. I highly appreciate anyone's help!
Cooler Master Hyper 212+ Evo is a really good heatsink, it is around $30 too, with 35 euros, you could buy a 120mm fan and make the heatsink a push/pull configuration.
Totally agree. The CM Hyper 212+ is the best choice for a good and cheap heatsink.
The hyper TX3 also has possibilities for a push/pull configuration though
The CM Hyper has that too! :)
The problem with the 212+ / 212 Evo is that they're MASSIVE. Many cases aren't deep enough to have them installed with the case door still being able to be reinstalled. The Hyper TX3 is a better fit for cases that can't take the 212+, as it uses a 92mm fan instead of the 120mm on the 212+/Evo. The TX3 can cool up to 130W, so all but one AMD Phenom II part will work with it.

The Hyper 212 is taller than a 120mm fan if you include the heatpipes and the base of the cooler. It's just under 160mm tall (158.5mm), plus the height of the motherboard and of the CPU mounted in the socket. I've come across several PC cases that have 120mm fans, but are too shallow to mount a 212 without it hitting the door.
Cooler Master Hyper 212+ Evo
as stated, it's really fucking awesome - It's so quite and it gives the sickest cooling. - My CPU was usually at 60 - 70 Celsius before I got the Cooler Master Hyper 212+ Evo Now it's on 25 - 30 while I'm in-game It's awesome and it's definitely worth the money. Here is a video of the cooler, it's bad but I hope it shows how ridiculous big it also is. - It's rotation is around 440 to 540 - pretty nice, but the only con I guess is that it keeps starting up saying that there's a failure with the CPU cooler - But it just resumes to windows when you press F1 Shows how strong it actually is, I don't know if I can find some software which allows me to adjust the rotation level. But If I was you, I would get it. video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QF3x7oh2XM

I built another computer in a Cooler Master Elite 371 and it would hit the door, despite using all 120mm fans so I had to use a TX3 instead.
What's the full load temps?
I'm not sure what your question is, but if you meant this. - I'm running SimCity 5 and Skyrim - I've done that for around 20 - 30 minutes and the heat is still that.

Temps under gaming really isn't sufficient to test a cooler. Games use the CPU in different ways. Some games, like FarCry 3 is pretty CPU limited, while other games, like BF3 uses less CPU power. Edit: wPrime is a great tool too. Or intelburntest. wPrime is probably the easiest one.
I'm just downloading Folding@Home, gonna try out the others, depends if I don't go down with a depression after this program wrecked my dreams of having my PC below 40 Celsius. [editline]26th March 2013[/editline] But to be honest - Who wants to stress his own CPU, it doesn't matter as long as they can game without the PC is baking. But for anyone who's still interested it move around 5 degrees Celsius on three of the cores.

BUUT I decided to buy the Hyper TX3 after people's argues. It performs really well. My current CPU temperature is 32.5c, I have been monitoring temperatures as well when I'm surfing on Facepunch as as I'm gaming, after a hour or so playing PAYDAY: The Heist my temperature got 41c max. This is so much better than my old alloy CPU fan. CPU hit 45c while the system was in BIOS setup! Also, my case is a Cooler Master HAF 912 Plus. It's something over 200mm, since there fit 2 200mm fans in this case. Here's a image of how it looks like in my computer case: http://imgur.com/KGsddgC
Because it is a stabillity test for oc'ing?
I wouldn't even THINK of overclocking. When you want a computer that boots fast you gotta depend on a hard drive, I'm satisfied with the performance which my CPU gives now. :v:
I wouldn't even THINK of overclocking. When you want a computer that boots fast you gotta depend on a hard drive, I'm satisfied with the performance which my CPU gives now. :v:
OC'ing indeed does almost nothing for startup times, thats not why people overclock. Try playing games like planetside 2. Or future versions of battelfield whatever on that CPU. Believe me, you will want to overclock. You are going to hit a cpu bottleneck within a few years with that cpu (or any cpu). Overclocking will help it stretch a bit further. For example: Planetside 2, Bf3 and gta IV are unplayable for me without an overclock on my ancient E8500.
I hit 70 degrees with full stress test, My CPU is rated for 90 degrees, also I've overclocked it from 2.93GHz to 4.00GHz, it used to get past 100 degrees and shut down when I had the basic configuration with no overclock and stock cooler.
So, to set the dots on the I, I just got a CM Hyper TX3 Evo, temperatures and anything stupid else: Sensors | +- ASRock M3A770DE (/mainboard) | | | +- Winbond W83627DHG-P (/lpc/w83627dhgp) | | +- CPU VCore : 1.432 1.384 1.528 (/lpc/w83627dhgp/voltage/0) | | +- Voltage #2 : 0.256 0.128 0.544 (/lpc/w83627dhgp/voltage/1) | | +- AVCC : 3.392 3.376 3.408 (/lpc/w83627dhgp/voltage/2) | | +- 3VCC : 3.392 3.376 3.408 (/lpc/w83627dhgp/voltage/3) | | +- Voltage #5 : 1.904 1.872 1.904 (/lpc/w83627dhgp/voltage/4) | | +- Voltage #6 : 1.712 1.704 1.712 (/lpc/w83627dhgp/voltage/5) | | +- Voltage #7 : 1.696 1.688 1.704 (/lpc/w83627dhgp/voltage/6) | | +- 3VSB : 3.536 3.52 3.536 (/lpc/w83627dhgp/voltage/7) | | +- CPU (temp) : 31c 24.5 36.5 (/lpc/w83627dhgp/temperature/0) | | +- Auxiliary (temp) : 37c 36.5 38.5 (/lpc/w83627dhgp/temperature/1) | | +- System (temp) : 21c 18 23 (/lpc/w83627dhgp/temperature/2) | | +- System Fan : 1004.46 888.158 1022.73 (/lpc/w83627dhgp/fan/0) | | +- CPU Fan : 1622.6 1418.07 1654.41 (/lpc/w83627dhgp/fan/1) | | +- Auxiliary Fan #2 : 685.976 0 697.314 (/lpc/w83627dhgp/fan/4) | Now go ahead and do your general discussions on this thread :P

What's the load temps? Just wondering :)
urgh, actually closed it down after I typed the baking thing, but three of the cores was about 39 - 41

Another question I have, does Arctic provide good thermal compound? Cause I want some decent compound that's not too expensive.
Good enough. You can find benchmarks on google.
