I Am Legend: Awakening - 2011 release. - General

He stated that this movie would reveal what happens to Neville before the infected take over New York. D. B. Weiss has been recruited to write the script, while Lawrence would direct "if we figure out the story." Smith stated the film would have Neville and his team going from New York City to Washington, D.C. and back again, as they made their last stand. The film will again explore the premise of what it's like to be alone, as Lawrence explained, "...the tough thing is, how do we do that again and in a different way?" The film is slated for release in 2011. It has been confirmed that the title of the prequel is "I Am Legend: Awakening." What's your box of chocolates on this?

When I saw the thread, I thought 'Oh god, a sequel which totally breaks the fact that Neville freaking died in the first film'. I was surprised to find out that this is actually a prequel. Oh well, heres hoping it contains less BS CGI vampires.

Maybe the prequel'll be what the first film should've been but I somehow doubt it.

The book was way better than the movie. I don't understand who allows this shit to get viewed? If you have a pretty amazing ending wouldn't you want people to see it? After reading the book you will realize how much of a failure this movie was. The name itself, "I am Legend," plays an integral part in the plot.

A note to everyone. The things in the movie were basically mutants not vampires. The book had true vampires in it.

Could be really interesting, I think they'll struggle with the whole 'lonesome' part of it though. Then again, it could be a train wreck. It seemed like a one-off sort of thing.
