The title.
This has only really started today - for no apparent reason, it would seem.
On the desktop (where the modem is connected to), it will work for a few minutes, then slow down and eventually stop. This can only be remedied temporarily by switching it off and on again. It'll do it again after a few minutes.
Very strangely, the internet connection works fine on wireless devices, as long as the computer is off. The lights on the modem (I assure you, it is up to date) are fine whenever the computer is off. However, as soon as the computer is turned on, most of them go out, but eventually go on again. During this time the connection is lost.
