PepsiCo has made it official: Crystal Pepsi is coming back, but only for a limited time via a sweepstakes.
The marketer hinted at a comeback for the 1990s-era clear soda over the summer. PepsiCo responded to one of Crystal's biggest fans, competitive eating star Kevin Strahle. He was told that "we definitely hear you and all your followers and we think you'll all be happy with what's in store." On Tuesday, PepsiCo confirmed that Crystal is returning via a sweepstakes on the "Pepsi Pass" app that will run from Dec. 10 to Dec. 11. Winners will be picked and notified by the week of Dec. 14, according to the company.
Too bad you can only get it for winning the sweepstakes but doesn't necessarily mean they won't sell it after.
L.A. Beast finally got his crystal pepsi.

Aw fuck, was just about to get hype, but it's only some stupid America-only competition? All my life I've dreamt of tasting Crystal Pepsi...
I hope this is being used as a market research venture to determine interest for wider sales.

Aw man... Unless I read wrong, is it sweepstakes only? I at least hoped Crystal Pepsi would return to stores for a limited time...
Man, "sweepstakes"... If anything reminded me of the 90's, it was the concept of sweepstakes.
Why not a limited release in stores to see how consumers will react to it? If it sells out quickly then they might be unto something.
Heineken did the same thing in the Netherlands were it was releasing Desperado's at a few stores and it became a quick success, eventually it had a world wide release.
And all it took was a petition and LA Beast's ruined stomach.
Not as disappointed about it being a sweepstakes thing than I am about L.A. Beast not being in that video, since he pretty much single-handedly led the push for it to come back.
C. Pepsi isn't very good imo, and Coke is honestly better. Bringing Vanilla Coke back to Canada would be better

Desperados? You mean that tequila-flavoured lager they sell? Eh, it's alright. I feel like I've tasted better booze, and I don't generally drink beer, but Desperados doesn't repulse me.
Either way, a limited release seems like a safe gamble to test the waters. Hell, maybe that's what Pepsi's got planned for a post-sweepstakes initiative?

Whoa, you guys don't have Vanilla Coke? Dude, that sucks.
Pepsi sure likes making drinks that are impossible to get.

Agreed, vanilla coke is easily top 5 sodas.
Download the app to enter the sweepstakes to win the Pepsi? Jesus christ lol, just sell the stuff or I'm not interested. Who is going through all this effort just for Pepsi sans-food coloring?
Can't wait until "available to everyone" means its being sold for $10+ per 2 liter bottle exclusively at Wal-Mart or on Amazon for like a week. As opposed to how Throwback was nationally available for a time.
judging by the generic as fuck bottles they are planning a wider release
Ugh not again, that shit's nasty. Stick with regular pepsi.

Woah, am i reading you right? Saying coke tastes better than pepsi? Wow, you must have a dead stomach if you can tolerate that much acid in your stomach.
If he doesn't know already, my brother will be happy to know that its going to be available again though. He was like 3 when Crystal Pepsi was nationally available and naturally never got to try. He's had some weird obsession with it since he heard its supposedly still manufactured in Mexico.
Isnt crystal pepsi just pepsi without the dye?
Whoa, you guys don't have Vanilla Coke? Dude, that sucks.
You can find it in literally any convenience store from my experience but it's gonna cost you an extra $1 or so over the price of a normal coke. Still totally worth it since it's probably my favourite soda ever.
I love the fat chris pratt

You can still buy throwback all over at least. It's even stocked in the break room where I work by the vending company.

They have it at a LOT of convenience stores here in toronto.

This is literally pepsi without the food coloring. Why would it sell more than normal pepsi?
literally nothing more than not putting in the coloring
literally nothing more than not putting in the coloring
Is that literally all this is? I was expecting a different flavour lol
literally nothing more than not putting in the coloring
We get it guys its Pepsi without colouring, who cares?
Great to know that Pepsi finally announced it, but a shame that its starting with a sweepstakes. Can't wait to try it!
