Get ready to enjoy the 34.7GB update guys.
So people who bought the season pass are fucked over?
So people who bought the season pass are fucked over?
they were fucked over when they wanted to play the DOOM multiplayer because it seems like only 4 people played it regularly
So people who bought the season pass are fucked over?
While a bit under a year and a half is too soon imo, unlocking DLC for everyone later in the life of the game is a really good idea.
So people who bought the season pass are fucked over?
It doesn't help that the Season Pass was even sold at fucking full price.
That what you get with dlc and season passes
So does this update even do anything for people who aren't interested in multiplayer? Cause a freaking 34gb update is way over the top, especially if it's only multiplayer crap I couldn't care less about.
They should then change the season pass to be for single player content and start making more doom sp stuff which people ACTUALLY want
Will they release deathmatch modes without loadouts yet?
That what you get with dlc and season passes
Most companies don't make all their DLC free after a year and a half. Largely because most games are nowhere near as dead as the DOOM MP was. It wasn't super fun when I tried it out shortly after the games launch, and I expect it only went downhill from there.
I will never stop being mad that they had a single player game as great as they did and then focused all of the post-release content on the multiplayer

I don't understand why people bought the DLC though. Even if you wanted to try the demons and stuff, it still wasn't worth it. At all.
I like the multiplayer :(
While a bit under a year and a half is too soon imo, unlocking DLC for everyone later in the life of the game is a really good idea.
Anything is too soon really, all this will do is put people off DLC, as if people weren't already getting put off it… I'm lucky I didn't buy any DLC for this game but I'll be much more wary about doing so in the future now, at least from this company
Thank Bethesda for forcing ID to make multiplayer shits instead of Singleplayer DLC

Like battlefield 3, no one's going to care if the DLC they bought for that goes free. It only serves to harm the longevity of the game with fragmentation.
To be fair, the DLC hasn't sold all that well and the multiplayer isn't all that populated, so this move makes sense to me. [editline]19 July 2017[/editline] I should also point out that the DLC didn't really fragment the community, as anyone could play the maps as long as a single person in the lobby had the DLC. With that in mind though, the point I made above still stands.
there goes my data cap
I had to uninstall it for now, but at least I have some disk space again.
I completely stopped playing the multiplayer the day they added DLC weapons and demons. I might give it another go now. My only question is why is an update that adds absolutely no new content larger than most games? What the hell is wrong with idtech 6 that makes just changing a few variables into a 40GB update?
I literally just reinstalled the game. I have shitty internet so that took all of last week. Ffs

Multiplayer was the smaller of the two so it essentially deleted that and made you redownload it.

kinda sad that they had the previous pay to win dlc setup going in the first place. Nice of them to not be doing that anymore but at the same time, they can fuck off. Not that most people played doom for the awful MP anyways.
I find it heartbreaking that people are still complaining even though id/Bethesda has been doing stuff like this. I get it that people want singleplayer DLC blah blah blah but there are people like me who enjoy the multiplayer (even though we're not an especially large group) who appreciates id for continuing to support it like this to keep some steam in it, you can't just leave in a game's multiplayer component like you can with singleplayer stuff. Not only that, but they have given us Arcade Mode and huge improvements to SnapMap to the point where it before and after launch is like night and day. Besides, at this point they're better off making a sequel instead of an expansion.
free dlc, cool 35gb forced update, not cool
I still need to finish the singleplayer. This wouldn't be a problem for me if I didn't own it on the PS4, which I have sitting on my desk without a wired connection, with the PSN servers already being as slow as they are, with the limited space that I have because I have a few triple-A games installed along with the indies. Looks like this is staying on my backlog until I can uninstall other games.

Because before this they were fucking you in the ass. You'd play the multiplayer and get put up against by people uisng dlc only weapons and demons of superior quality because they paid extra money for the full priced game you already bought. They don't deserve "thanks" and you shouldnt be heartbroken that people dont appreciate status quo enough.
