Hello there. About 2 weeks - 3 weeks ago, my PC has been acting up. Whenever i try to boot up, it gets stuck on the Please Wait screen with Windows 7 at the bottom. If i try to run it in any of the safe modes, safe mode, safe mode + cmd or even safemode + networking, It doesnt even say please wait, it gets stuck on the blue screen, just saying Windows 7 Ultimate at the bottom. I really am stuck here. Im running Windows 7 OS ( 32 ( x86 ) bit ), previously with Windows XP orginally a couple of months ago. I dont know why I have this problem. I do have my Windows 7 OS disc there, but for some reason, when I try to run my disc, it always goes to the screen saying ' Windows has not shut down properly ' giving me the option to do it in Safe mode and etc, or just run it normally. Ive heard of ' scandow ' or whatever it was called, but I never make it into my desktop or where it says my user is logging in. My PC brand is Acer. The computer is Veriton M661 ? Thats preety much all I know. Oh and, at the beginning when I turn on my PC, i dont get the Acer logo about 90 % of the time, which i have no idea why. And preety much if i knew that, i would Alt + F10 and go to Factory Settings. I dont mind how this is fixed whether i lose everything or not, i just want to get back to steam and start gaming and using my PC!!! Thanks Quick edit : something in my pc starts clicking in a rhythm. dunno what it is. Happens when I get to the please wait screen running windows normally. dunno what it is?
Please can somebody reply :( my other PC has just gone down. this is really not my day
If you have a case speaker make sure it's plugged in so you can hear the beep codes if there are any. Then refer to your motherboard manual to figure out what the beep code means. If there aren't any beep codes, make sure your RAM is properly seated. If it's seated, make sure that the motherboard knows your RAM and that the RAM timings are set right. I had this problem where my computer wouldn't start. Changed the RAM timings and my PC starting working. BTW, What motherboard and RAM do you have?

Now that you say it, the RAM might not be properly seated. I did maybe 1 week before the incident happened, opened my PC to flash my friends Xbox 360. Plus, im not sure how to check what motherboard and RAM I have? I'll try to look into it more, but thanks. Also, what if I dont have a manual? Thanks.
You can check online. If you bought your computer pre-made then there might be a sticker on the inside saying where everything is. That should also say what motherboard you have. And by speakers I don't mean desktop speakers you play music out of, I'm talking about a little speaker like this: It should beep on startup if there's a problem. Sorry for the big picture. The speaker is usually the size of a dime.
Ok well ill have a good look tonight. But im going to Italy tommorow so I dont think I will have alot of time until a week after tommorow. But I do recall a beep now that you mention it. Its a BLEEP just at bootup, before It says click F1 to continue ( because I have had my chassis opened ) . But still no acer logo. Ill look inside and research more online today. Thanks again for your help.
