BLAUVELT — One person is in police custody after a student allegedly brought a gun to South Orangetown Middle School this morning, Orangetown police said No one was injured. Police are conducting a sweep of the school on Van Wyck Road as a precaution. Students and teachers were locked down in their classrooms. Police from other departments were being called to the school. The building also houses district offices, including the superintendent's office. A South Orangetown parent burst into the office of schools Superintendent Kenneth Mitchell with a gun a year ago and held him hostage because he was angry over a letter about the swine flu virus. Peter Cocker, a former New York City police officer, was sentenced to five years in state prison and five years post-release supervision in connection with the June 9, 2009, incident
Source: http://www.lohud.com/article/20100601/NEWS03/6010350/-1/newsfront/Student-allegedly-brings-gun-to-S.-Orangetown-Middle-School I think this might become a tradition.
Whatever is in that letter must have really pissed him off about the swine flu.
Ah, the annual school shooting.
You crazy Americans and your guns....
That's because most schools have very poor security. My old one didn't have any at all. Just a puny old man pretending to be a guard.
A guy at my school got caught with a fully loaded WASR in the trunk of his car, Apparently he was going to the range after school.
He just could of left the gun at home? [editline]10:08AM[/editline] Then pick it up, then drive to the range?
My high school didn't have any security :downs:
You should change schools
A guy at my school got caught with a fully loaded WASR in the trunk of his car, Apparently he was going to the range after school.
Who the fuck decided to randomly search his trunk?
You should change schools
Yea, thats why it says my "OLD SCHOOL" not my school, but my old school, which means I changed schools.
He just could of left the gun at home? [editline]10:08AM[/editline] Then pick it up, then drive to the range?
It's easier to just get in the car and go. I'm sure he figured no one would even know, who randomly inspects your trunk?
Point taken.
My school have one woman as a guard, because Latvia doesn't have retarded guns laws which allow everyone and their grandma own an assault rifle.
lol guys im ten and look at my FN2000 isn't it cool
That's because most schools have very poor security. My old one didn't have any at all. Just a puny old man pretending to be a guard.
No, he was the head teacher.
Well, I was shot in the thigh by a kid in school. It was all over the news (nation wide they said) and it's sad to think that someone has to get hurt for them to buff up security. Also I live in Dublin Georgia..so if you want to look it up.

The school shooting, a new hardcore sport for the youth. Plus middleschool. lol, you kids are fucking craaazzzzy
How did it feel?
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess "unpleasent" to say the least.
Consider yourself lucky, my school is next to a prison for rapists and pedophiles.
How did it feel?
Not as bad as you would think. I felt like I pissed my self at first, then I looked down, and was like "Ahh fuck" [editline]11:07AM[/editline]
Consider yourself lucky, my school is next to a prison for rapists and pedophiles.
Field trip!
My school has a "cop" who patrols the hallways with a handgun, but other than that no security. Honestly there's so many freaks at my school I wouldn't be surprised if one of them came in with a gun.
My school have one woman as a guard, because Latvia doesn't have retarded guns laws which allow everyone and their grandma own an assault rifle.
The irony of it is that Latvia has a higher homicide rate than the US. Assault rifles in the US are heavily taxed to the point where legal purchase cost about as much as a new car. Not that it matters, since most automatic firearms the few criminals have had in posession are illegally converted in all but one reported case which involved a police officer. Protip: If schools actually had some security and allowed teachers to arm themselves, this incident could have been easily avoided.
My school don't have any guards, because Sweden doesn't have retarded gun laws which allow everyone and their grandma own an assault rifle.
My last high school had no security, because the students would police themselves, and there were no huge problems at that school. Also, there was like only 300 students attending.

If so, I can see why it didn't really hurt. The bullet fragment didn't penetrate the clothing. [editline]02:41AM[/editline] All you got was a bruise. An actual gunshot would be far more painful.
That's because most schools have very poor security. My old one didn't have any at all. Just a puny old man pretending to be a guard.
My school doesn't have any security at ALL! And we've not had an incident in over 700 years.
Make it a third incident. :smug:
