So I fried my motherboard because I was dumb installing RAM, and I couldn't live without my computer for very long. I could, just not very long. So I went onto ebay and bought an Intel D915GAG, (my old motherboard) for $24.99 US Shipped in less than 7 days, and Everything is pretty good so far! Only problems were, when I put in my gfx card, i got no signal, but a BIOS update fixed that. Also, some LED lights for my power button and HDD indicator aren't working, non-essential, but meh, im happy I have my computer. I bought from this guy if anyone cares, http://myworld.ebay.com/gmslats/ Seems like a legitimate store. I bought there.
Ok?
I'll usually buy used motherboards if I'm on a budget. There is usually nothing wrong with them, more often than not it just didn't have the features the original owner was looking for.
My dad's used EVGA 780i motherboard came in perfect condition but with no extras.
Did you put in the case connectors wrong? Or you didn't know where to put it because has no instructions? or is it just broke
Did you put in the case connectors wrong? Or you didn't know where to put it because has no instructions? or is it just broke
Im not really sure where they go... There is like 9 pins in one spot, and all the connectors (3 of them, HDD LED, power LED and the actually power switch) are 2 pins i know the power switch is in the right place, otherwise anywhere else and the comp won't boot.
I'm guessing they didn't send you the instruction manual. There should be blueprints online if you look for them...
Ebay used MOBO's are generally just find if there is a good seller rating... Craigslist for PC parts on the other hand. :suicide:

usually if you look really close it just says under it. Or you can google the Motherboard, there are usually online instruction
just google it my intel D845GLAD and D865PEARL dont give any hints on to where the front panel connectors go on the header.
Is this a rant or a recommendation? I can't tell.
Is this a rant or a recommendation? I can't tell.
Just letting people know, that it's ok to buy stuff from ebay, usually. You usually see people give BAD stories because usually people only post about BAD stuff happening. Which increases your fear of buying from the internet/ebay/amazon etc.
A note about LEDs- if they are plugged in backwards they won't work. Switches will work though.
