Facepunch Collaborative Rock/Metal Album - General

In a similar fashion to the Ambient ([url]http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1068108[/url]) collab thread and other collaborative albums from this site, I have decided to start a collab for the harder, more guitar-oriented music coming from Facepunch. Since I'm not really in the mood to write an essay on Rock and Metal (and since you should know what these are by now), I'll cut straight to the chase. This album will have around 12 to 16 songs on it, depending on how many people actually do this. A few rules of thumb (shamelessly stolen for the most part from the Ambient collab thread): [B]A few rules of thumb for the album:[/B] - Normalize your song at -3db. You can do this by loading your file into Audacity, highlighting the entire track, clicking on Effect at the top and selecting Normalize in the drop-down menu. It's as simple as that. - Try not to make your track overly long. I would say 10 minutes at the longest, but be careful not to get carried away with a repetitive and boring track. Going longer than 6 minutes is a ballsy move because it's your job to keep the listener interested. - If your song sounds like shit, then it probably won't make it on the album. This means that you should try and not smother everything in distortion, even though you might think it sounds good. - Your song must be original, no remixes. I'm a bit iffy on allowing covers. Collaborations are fine. The deadline will be sometime around [highlight]April 20th[/highlight]. Probably longer, but you guys work fast, so it's flexible. If I can get decent sound out of my Shit-ar and any Idea's I'll try to contribute something.

I'll be very interested in hearing this when it comes out. I like some of FP's rock/metal.

I think rock is the genre I write in most. I'm up for it.

If I am not too busy with the designs for the ambient album, I will see what I can crank out for this.

I'm in :buddy: I have a song that I've kinda written but haven't recorded, because any projects that I will release music under will be more of a prog/ambient rock kinda thing whereas this is pretty heavy. I could finish it up properly and record it for this. [media]http://soundcloud.com/absenceprotocol/groovy-wip-midi[/media] I'll replace the leads with better ones, they're kinda in place of vocals that I thought I would do.

If you guys want I can contribute a song by my band. There's a 12 minute extremely proggy instrumental, a 7 minute metal song, or a 8-10 minute prog death song that we haven't quite finished yet. whichever you guys would prefer.
