"When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth."
A tribute to the highly acclaimed film series in which the above quote originated from, No More Room in Hell (PC Gamer's Mod of the Year 2011, ModDB's Editor Choice Multiplayer Mod of the Year 2011), is a co-operative realistic first person survival horror modification for the Source Engine.
Taking inspiration from George Romero's "Of the Dead" series, the mod is set during a time in which the world is on the verge of collapsing into chaos from a disease whose origin is unknown. Many experts and organizations have their theories and ideas on how such a disease emerged and started to systematically destroy our very way of life, but one fact is clear to all. Whoever perishes from the disease gets up and kills, and the people they killed get up and kill.
Didn't see it show up in the automated 'In the News Mode'
Another zombie game? Come on
then again, free to play, who can complain? Still.
Interesting that it's been released on all PC platforms. I hope other mods like Black Mesa do the same.
Zombie games are still awesome though so I don't get why anybody gives a shit if there are a ton of awesome games floating around
If a thousand WarZs were floating around I would kill myself though

I remember playing it a long time ago.
Shit was hectic sometimes.
It's a sourcemod, It's been released for quite a while
fair enough, Zombie games can be fun but lets be honest. There are simply too many zombie games out there.
It gets super tiring.
"Oh, a zombie game"
"Oh hey cool another zombie game"
"Nother one, cool"
"Another? ehh"
"ANOTHER zombie game"
"YET ANOTHER"
"Too many zombie games"
"please make it stop!"

It's one of the best source mods around. It's arguably better than zombie panic: source.
And yeah I do agree there's too many zombie games but this is an exception. Try it out.

Better than Zombie Panic?
Holy fuck what is this
Gotta respect this

Article doesnt mention it but iirc there was a huge update with this steam release.
Better than Zombie Panic?

Eh I wouldn't say that. Zombie Panic, if anything, is fairly solid which isn't exactly what I would call NMRiH.
Imagine a more story and objective oriented zombie panic with more emphasis on the ammo conservation and scavenging, also no Humans V.S. Zombies. Once you die you're gone.
The mod was also plagued with a LOT of problems, from fucked up hitboxes to terrible animations, although a lot of that has been fixed now.
There's also the campaign difficulty. Sometimes it's not totally clear what to do, or the task is just impossible as an objective is literally swarming with dozens and dozens of zombies and all you have is a pistol with 3 bullets and a melee weapon.
A lot of times gas cans and welding torches refuse to work also.
I'd still recommend trying this mod out though. It has some great ideas but as with most mods it just lacks that professional's touch.

Well yeah it's a free source mod with no competitive multiplayer to speak of.

I honestly think the amount of zombie games vs other types of genres is still pretty low. No more room in hell also brings some really interesting stuff to the stable.
This is honestly a really good zombie mod. Unlike most zombie mods out there this one actually has some polish and good level design. It's not really comparable to Zombie Panic, which is essentially a zombie-themed assymetric team deathmatch while NMRIH is a 100% co-op experience with focus on survival and objective completion. It's actually a lot similar to what L4D in co-op campaign would be like if it had slow zombies and much more unforgiving game mechanics.

Who are you to decide there are too many games of a certain genre? Even if there is too many, how is that a bad thing? Pick the one you want to play.
If it gets you that upset then why don't you get off your arse and make a game yourself? until then you have no say in what developers should be making.

Better alert game critics, unless they've made a game then they can't critique anything.
Fantastic mod, play it now.
They need to update it more.
I remember playing the beta on my old shit computer. Ran like molten dicks. So I guess maybe this will run better on my new computer.
The beta was fun as hell, can't wait to play it now.

This mod was conceptualized in 2003 and started to come to fruition then. It had its first public release in 2011.
They need to update it more.
They lack the manpower.

Trying to be an authority on what genre of games developers should be making is not the same as critiquing a game.

"Don't argue about the food if you aren't a chef"
oh come on really?

I'm not trying to be an authority of anything, I'm saying there are a billion more ideas out there.
obviously being that this was before they become popular it's an exception, but if you're making a new game and it's a zombie game, it's probably not going to lift off too far.

You didn't review the game, you seem to think you're an authority on what game developers should be making, which you're not, not even game developers are. What I was saying was if you want developers to be making something else then why don't you do it yourself?
But I think you knew that but you wanted to get a "haha gotcha"
Is anyone else unable to get into a server? It gives errors such as invalid class tables, my map differs from the server's or that the server is a LAN server.

That explains why it says 2011 on the steam page instead of 2013, got confused for a second because I never heard of that mod before.

I think the too many X thing should be more applied in the sense of ugh, not another BAD zombie game.
I don't really care how many zombies games get released if they are good, but the issue is when a genre gets popular and loads of cheap badly made imitations of the good games start coming from people wanting a quick buck, or not even that, the developers mean well but their game simply doesn't stand up against the better games of the genre.
Until they release the ultimate zombie survival game, then I myself say keep going with them.
Good, this is an awesome mod and deserves steam sponsorship. It's like a "realism" version of Left 4 Dead... mind you the production started a long time before l4d.
Really hope they add a PVP mode though... having to outcompete/kill the opposing players and gather supplies while zombies roam the map.. or have a team of three players with shit equipment vs one psychopath who has good equipment.
Is anyone else unable to get into a server? It gives errors such as invalid class tables, my map differs from the server's or that the server is a LAN server.
I'm unable to join any server. Either the map is different, or the class tables are different.
I suppose most if not all the servers still need to update to 1.07.
