This'll be a fun PS3 exclusive. The only two shooters I'm excited for now are this and Planetside 2, but I'm more excited for PS2.
I really like how Dust is gonna interact with the EVE universe. In one of the e3 videos, when someone calls down a tank, a dev explains that somebody paid for that tank. Not like you with your measly in game resources, but someone in the EVE universe, that has funded your entire objective, has paid for that tank. If you blow it up and waste it, you've wasted that guys money.
Also I love the metaphor we get out of this. The PC master race paying for the Console gaming mercenaries to do their dirty work.
i'm probably going to buy this
'Toxin" ICD-9 Submachine Gun with unlimited use and a custom skin
Tbh it seems like it's going down the root of APB and what not.

the ground units that one buys in dust are relatively inexpensive in comparison to the fiscal magnitude of eve's ships and loadouts
some ships cost (in approximation) $15 when isk conversion rates are taken into account, many cost a fuckton more than that
It might be cool if we can pick up weapons rather needing to buy them every time.

the point of dust is to be financed by a benefactor in eve online who wants to take control of a planet
you don't need to worry about paying for your weapons
Unlimited use?
Excuse me?
Ex-fucking-cuse me?
They better not move this shit past preorder bonuses. Don't whine at me how it sucks to lose things when you die, this game is a subset of EVE, so HTFU.
I wish there was just a way to buy the game standard and get a lot of permanent stuff but I guess that undercuts the whole F2P transaction system.
Vaguely interested in the game, certainly not going to buy beta access though. I can wait.

players can sell items bought with real money, so you can always buy it with isk.
also, the best weapons aren't that much better than even the standard weapons, so it's not like you'll be useless with lowbie gear.

Some supercars cost less than EVE's largest ships. You could probably buy a Lamborghini for less than a Titan.
I'm pretty sure a trillion ISK equals out to about 30k USD

Its crazy thinking that, if you are spergy enough, you can make thousands in profit from EvE online.
Make money playing a game while people have a job saving people's lives and they make less.
But that's Liasezz Fairre for you.
Think of it this way, the recent Goonswarm scheme that netted them trillions of ISK? That's around the equivalent of a bank robbery once conversions are done.

you can always just make money being a peaceful space rock miner like me!
eve online, the only game around that simulates having a job that you really don't wanna be at.

You can't *legally* convert your ISK back into hard money
Money launder through ebay.
Mysterious 40,000 dollar pencil appears and disappears.
Actually, yes you can. CCP has no issues with people using their isk to get PLEX ingame, and then sell it for what ever

You are not allowed to sell plex for real money. You are free to sell plex for more isk, less isk, same isk, whatever, but not international currency.
