• New WiFi Router needed

Wasn't sure where to post this question but this seemed the most reasonable place to do it. So this is my deal, My current router is really dying it cuts out all the time and I can't really do anything about it anymore so i'm looking for a new one but I really have no idea what one to pick at all. I currently have a Linksys WRT54G. I really know nothing about routers but I'd like to have one that would support dd-wrt, also I live in the center of the city so I have a lot of Access-points around me, the record was once set around 40 of them. Please don't tell me to get a cable to my computer since that's not really an option at the moment. Would maybe be one of those powergrid or "homeplugs" or however you might call them, would those be an option as well? I do live in a rather old house and most of the plugs aren't even grounded so I don't know if it would be smart to get one of those things then. My budget is around 100$. Thanks already!
If there are a lot of access points about investigating the 5ghz band may be a good idea.

I'll keep it in mind!
I have a WNR3500L and never had that problem.
