After receiving death threats from the Taliban for defying the Islamist militant group with her outspoken views on girls' right to education, Malala was shot in the head a year ago while on a school bus near her village in Swat in northwestern Pakistan. She recovered after she was flown to Britain for surgery, but the militants, known as Tehreek-e-Taliban, have vowed to try to kill her again. Malala was a favorite to win the Nobel Peace Prize Friday -- but the honor went instead to the Netherlands-based Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, which is working to destroy the chemical weapons arsenal held by Syrian President Bashar Assad. maybe he bombed some of her friends, they can talk about it. edit: hey its true Obama has a lot of dead kids under his belt, watch the skies in pakistan.
Lucky her, she got to meet a man with a prepared statement and likely nothing else to bring.
Has this girl won a nobel peace prize yet? She's probably the most deserving person of it right now, seriously. Her Daily Show interview managed to leave Stewart speechless.
maybe he bombed some of her friends, they can talk about it.
You probably don't even know who Malala is you just wanted to butt in with your hilarious postin'
Has this girl won a nobel peace prize yet?
She was a runner up to some Dutch organization who opposed Syria's chemical weapons. Obama's won one though.
She was a runner up to some Dutch organization who opposed Syria's chemical weapons. Obama's won one though.
Obama doesn't deserve a nobel peace prize. What did he do that was so worthy of it?
Every post except the OP and my two so far have been about Obama Let's use this thread to talk about our favourite cars next!
You probably don't even know who Malala is you just wanted to butt in with your hilarious postin'
No he probably does.
She was a runner up to some Dutch organization who opposed Syria's chemical weapons. Obama's won one though.
i bet he's gonna rub it in her face too. he will be sitting there chatting and suddenly say "oops, time for me to polish my nobel peace prize...man this thing is beautiful!"
Every post except the OP and my two so far have been about Obama Let's use this thread to talk about our favourite cars next!
Obama is in the title, meeting some lying american politician isn't something I'd be proud of.
Every post except the OP and my two so far have been about Obama Let's use this thread to talk about our favourite cars next!
i'm sorry malala is a wonderful person and she certainly deserves every award and fame that she is honored with. still, i wanna make snippy remarks about obama :(
Obama doesn't deserve a nobel peace prize. What did he do that was so worthy of it?
First Black president is 100% why.
Obama is in the title, meeting some lying american politician isn't something I'd be proud of.
oh please, he's still the president of one of the most powerful and influential countries in the world
I honestly feel like we are talking about her so much because she is the only Afghani ever to say anything positive about the West ever. We are drone striking schools and killing kids but saying the Taliban are the only one harming people's chances at education...
malala is an easy sell because shes a small child and has a very simplistic message she's not gonna bring in the women's revolution but she's definitely going to be a symbol for it
That must have been somewhat awkward, even though she would probably be more than pleased to meet the POTUS.
oh please, he's still the president of one of the most powerful and influential countries in the world
He would be fun to flip off thats for sure.
He would be fun to flip off thats for sure.
You should totally do it.
You should totally do it.
I'm not as unfortunate as Malala Y, thus have no access to POTUS.
you should dull that edge bud
you should dull that edge bud
I have two edges and only one stone.
malala is an easy sell because shes a small child and has a very simplistic message she's not gonna bring in the women's revolution but she's definitely going to be a symbol for it
Idk many people here have gotten her message and some sort of women's rights awareness has come to pakistan. Some sort not a huge revolution, but hey any victory for an issue like this is a good thing.
