• Speakers make popping sounds the longer PC is on.

So I've recently found an interesting problem I hope someone can help identify the root of. Whenever I leave the PC on for longer than ~24 hours, the speakers will start making popping noises when sound is passed through. It's not loud, but a rather subtle pop. The noise ramps up from infrequent to around once every second after another 24 hours. This is mostly noticable when a continuous sound (like music) is passed through. With dialogue and gaming it is barely noticable. Changing volume also makes the pops softer and louder. I've tried replugging the cable in the PC, changing it from the back to front port, switching off/on the receiver it's attached to, and using a seperate DAC, all without success. The only surefire way to eliminate it, albeit temporarily, is by restarting the PC. Any ideas as to what may cause this would be appreciated.

Sounds like you have a Mini-ITX motherboard that creates conflicts. or a bad psu
Do you have a cellphone nearby? My speakers make a popping noise when I receive a text or a call.
What sound card? I have a similar problem with my x-fi card, the sound will start popping after my computer's been on for a long time. I found that restarting the windows and creative audio services fixes it without having to restart my entire system, so I made a batch script for it. I'm still not sure why it happens though...
@echo off net stop CTAudSvcService net stop AudioSrv net start AudioSrv net start CTAudSvcService
Make sure there aren't any cables near the I/O for your motherboard. That could be giving off EMI.
Also, did you recently download the Razer Surround (lolol gaming save) program? Because I did and I am experiencing the popping sound you describe; very noticeable when listening to music.

Software gimmicks are no substitute for proper multi channel speaker setup.

Otherwise it should be constant and unpredictable from the moment I turn on the computer.
