The movie itself is actually based off a book with the same title, so if you've read the book you should check out the movie, or likewise. The actual story of the movie isn't important at all, but with the general idea being that Raoul Duke (Depp) and Dr. Gonzo (Del Toro) need to head on down to Las Vegas to cover the Mint 400. From the first scene you are informed that they are both hyped up on drugs and that they also have a suitcase filled with every drug they'll ever need. The film itself is pretty random, with the scenes flip flopping back and forth going to a flashback and then to current times only to repeat itself. There are also multiple (nearly every) scene that are in the form of what the two main characters are seeing. In other words, they manage to capture the confusion and randomness of the drugs themselves without over exaggerating it (too much) to the point where it's just silly. The movie itself makes no sense but is hilarious and I'd definitely recommend it. This movie is fucking amazing.
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I found it funny.
Benicio Del Toro is the true star of this movie, his pained wails and bathroom antics are oscar worthy.
holy JESUS WHAT ARE THESE GODDAMN ANIMALS

I've heard very good things about this film, but I'm ashamed to say I still have yet to see it.
I loved this film
I had to watch it twice to understand the plot. It is an amazing film though, the lies they tell are great.
Its retarded how much I quote this movie.
I like happened to see it when it was somewhere the half and I didn't understand nothing
It's pretty much about two dudes on a cocktail of hallucinogenics, why would you NEED to understand?

No matter how many times I watch this movie it's never boring to me. The book is pretty amazing too.
I think you mean brass tax.
nope it's tacks
brass tacks   –noun Informal. the most fundamental considerations; essentials; realities (usually used in the phrase get down to brass tacks).

1. brass tacks the main point of a discussion, the focal point of something being addressed "anyways, enough talk about the weather McGruder...I'm sure you know why I called you into my office....let's get down to brass tacks, shall we?"

I think you mean brass tax.
umm are you trying to correct my spelling and failing? YA LOLE
The first time watching it I found it to be pretty interesting but didn't really get what was going on, probably because I was rather high. Second time watching it I was really high again, but it all made a lot more sense.
tbh the first time i watch it i really fuckin lost track of the plot towards the end i need to watch the movie again
Good movie, great book.
This is my favorite scene. This is the best version I could find on youtube, all the others are crappy remakes or in another language.
