You think they would have learned from the Milan Games Week Incident.
You think they would have learned from the Milan Games Week Incident.
Yeah, it's great publicity!

If a limited edition of the game caused a riot, imagine a meet and greet with the dog.
considering COD is such a popular game, I don't know why they would set up an event like that. Its like going into a homeless shelter and saying "first 10 people to enter gets 2000!!"

One of the dude is getting his face pressed against the door.
Any publicity is good publicity.
Do people still actually believe this? Because 'we caused a riot' is not good publicity.
Do people still actually believe this? Because 'we caused a riot' is not good publicity.
"Our game is so good people rioted to get it!"
Also, Zerg rush.

New game mode confirmed
Do people still actually believe this? Because 'we caused a riot' is not good publicity.
You know advertising works by familiarizing the name of the brand or product? It's all about repetition, so long as they don't do anything scandalous or illegal it won't hurt them. After all, they didn't cause the riot, people did.
New game mode confirmed
Extinction (of the doors)
I'm already seeing people claim this on "COD fans are brainless chavs" around here, some are even trying to pin it on immigration (very hot issue lately) That said, it's a lot simpler than that: 1) you got a hugely popular game 2) you got a hugely popular convention 3) you say that the first 500 people will get a free collector's edition (worth several hundred euros) of COD no matter who the target audience is, there will be a riot There are several additional factors to consider: - The same thing happened in Milan last week. They can't say they didn't see it coming for Paris. - Call of Duty is an Activision game. David Reichall is the head of Activision France... and of SELL, which... also happens to be the organization behind Paris Games Week... - The security over there was simply untrained and understaffed. - No sensible planning whatsoever: the place couldn't hold enough people, that's why the crowd was packed so tightly together In conclusion Activision is the sole responsible for the mess. To sum things up: no security, no sensible planning, people heated up by a provocative communication/teasing, bouncers who were violent and provocative for no good reason (according to several of my friends who were there) — we've got the ultimate combo.

If Activision really wanted to give 500 collector's editions of the game away, there were a lot of better solutions than a provocative "first come first served" event. They could have held a raffle with tickets instead at their stand, for instance... [editline]30th October 2013[/editline] And what do you know: the games are already being resold
Everything that could've gone wrong, went wrong. Great one, Activision.
And they say video games don't cause violence!
The picture looked like a bunch of Zombies trying to break in.
In theory they are zombies, cause only mongs play CoD.
