It's great tech, but with a FOV that small I see no use for it. That seems to be like looking trough a short paper roll.
5.5 hours, 2.5 with "Intensive use"
basically my smart phone :v:
Even my phone lasts 11 days with the most minimal of use. And a 15in monitor from 2 feet away... That's so narrow, and for a VR, that I forsee lots of motion sickness
I have a friend who insist this is going to surpass Oculus Rift.

Maybe in 5-10 years, AR has a lot of potential. Imagine going to kart racing, you and your friends put on a helmet with one of these and suddenly you are in a Mario Kart race, with all the 3D effects, items and stuff displayed around you while you are driving a real kart on a real track. Or how about paintball or something where you shoot both each other and 3D AI bots rendered in real space. Both VR and AR have insane possibilities.
This isn't really anything like oculus though. It's more extended reality than virtual reality
Everything depends on it's price.
Considering Vive has AR technology as well, why even bother?

Saying AR is going to surpass VR is like saying cars are going to surpass boats.
They have different applications and goals. Comparing them is kinda... silly :v:
The up side to this device is that it will match your daft punk costume.
