• Looking for Some Low Profile Ram

Hey guys. I'm looking for some low profile ram. I am using a noctua d14 cooler which is pretty big. I really do not want to have to unscrew the the cooler and put it back. I'd like some ram which can just slip in. I am currently using these. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007TG8QRW/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Nothing much wrong with them, of course. But I can still return them (I have 7 days,) so, I would like to get some better ones. Preferably C9 1866mhz or better. I will try to post a picture soon. [editline]3rd February 2014[/editline] Also I'd prefer it to be 2 sticks as the 1st DIMM slot is a little less accessible than the other slots. I might have to remove the cpu cooler to get at that one. I don't want to do that. I use the 2nd and 4th slot. edit: pics! side view (with fan on) [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/8i2f1h8.jpg[/thumb] top view (without fan on side of cpu cooler) [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/wSzcoJr.jpg[/thumb]
Corsair has more different variants of RAM in that same low profile format if you want that 1866mhz: 8GB Kit (2 x 4GB) Red 8GB Kit (2 x 4GB) Blue 16GB Kit (4 x 4GB) Black 16GB Kit (4 x 4GB) Blue 32GB Kit (4 x 8GB) Blue 2133mhz: 8GB Kit (2 x 4GB) Blue 16GB Kit (4 x 4GB) Blue 3000mhz: 8GB Kit (2 x 4GB) Blue
Crucial Ballistix or samsung greens. Those two are actually low profile. The ones you have just claim to be low profile.
I didn't know that. Thanks. The ones I got fit quite nicely so if they aren't low profile then how do they compare to this? [thumb]http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/510keQrElzL._SX385_.jpg[/thumb] it seems quite big and I'm not sure if it would fit ( see op pics )
Those are bigger than the vengeance.
yes but a lot bigger or just a little?
Check out the Crucial Ballistix Sport VLP. It's only C9-1600, but it's 1.35v so it overclocks well.

is there any 16gb 1866 cl9 sticks that I can get as 2x8gb instead of 4x4gb?

are these any good? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Patriot-2133MHz-Channel-Viper-Memory/dp/B00FGNYFF2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1391481312&sr=8-2&keywords=16gb+2133+mhz+low+profile apparently they are 9-9-9-24 http://www.patriotmemory.com/product/specs/PVL316G213C1KR.pdf
Get the cheapest shit you can find, timings and frequency don't mean shit http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-memory-cml16gx3m2a1600c10b You could probably just jerry rig the fan to sit above the ram
the pc is used for rendering as well as gaming so I want my ram to be a little better. is the ram I posted on my post before this one any good? the voltage, timings and speeds look good but I don't know about the reputation of patriot. Never heard of them. Are they any good? [editline]4th February 2014[/editline] you are right about the jerry rigging thing though. I probably could move the fan up a bit even if I have to use some duct tape [editline]4th February 2014[/editline] http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ripjaws-PC17000-2133MHz-Memory-Platforms/dp/B007COT274/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1391488950&sr=8-3&keywords=gskill+16gb+2133mhz are these bad because they are 1.6v? I've heard a lot of people to avoid 1.6 [editline]4th February 2014[/editline] are these bad? You pay the premium for the extra low ram. If you think that little extra is enough to not jerry rig it, and can pay the extra price, I say do it. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ballistix-Tactical-240-Pin-PC3-12800-Memory/dp/B00A14ZTTM/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1391490730&sr=8-8&keywords=Crucial+Ballistix+Tactical
I think if I'm picking between paying £20-50+ extra for low profile I'd rather just use a sliver of duct tape so the fan can be moved up a notch
Or you could just get a smaller cooler like the Hyper 212 Evo that doesn't cover the RAM slots.
Sure except he wants a way better cooler
Or you could just get a smaller cooler like the Hyper 212 Evo that doesn't cover the RAM slots.
From the pics it looks like OP already has cooler. Cheaper to get low profile and keep the higher end cooler than buy an Evo.
