I read some time ago in Gateworld about this, but they seemed too Stargate biased, especially when comparing them like this:
Star Trek vs. Ancients: Ancients, duh
. I got angry, and thought starting a thread on the forums most of you don't care anyways. As you can see I did. So, let's make the same style comparisons, but race against race, not show against race. OK, my opinions: Ancients vs. Q: Q Ancients vs. Federation: probably Ancients Ancients vs. Borg: Tie Ancients vs. Dominion: IDK, but I think Ancients Ancients vs. Klingons: Ancients Tau'ri vs. Q: Q Tau'ri vs. Federation: Federation Tau'ri vs. Borg: Borg Tau'ri vs. Dominion: Dominion Tau'ri vs. Klingons: Klingons Asgards vs. Q: Q Asgards vs. Federation: Tie, I guess Asgards vs. Borg: Borg Asgards vs. Dominion: Tie, too Asgards vs. Klingons: Asgard Goa'uld vs. Q: Q Goa'uld vs. Federation: Federation Goa'uld vs. Borg: Borg Goa'uld vs. Dominion: Tie Goa'uld vs. Klingons: Goa'uld Ori vs. Q: Q Ori vs. Federation: Federation Ori vs. Borg: Borg Ori vs. Dominion: Ori Ori vs. Klingons: Ori Replicators vs. Q: Q Replicators vs. Federation: Tie Replicators vs. Borg: Borg, they're older Replicators vs. Dominion: Replicators Replicators vs. Klingons: Replicators Tell me what I forgot, and are you, and if, why disagreeing with me. Oh, and I know I me be wrong about the Dominion the most, I don't much about them at all. Sorry.
This is way, way too rudimentary to go on. In almost all cases, Star Trek species were severely ahead of Stargate races. The ancients aren't a faction that would fight against them, they're ascended, and I highly doubt that drones and their ships would do much damage against any ST ship.
The two universes seem way too different to really be pitted against eachother. Replicators would probably beat the shit out of every faction though.
This list has the power to create so much rage and drama,
Ori vs. Federation: Federation
I'd think the Ori would win there.

If it's ascended ancients, they would beat everyone except for Q easily. That is, if they get over the whole "Will not interfere" thing. Hell, even in human form they probably would've beaten all of them except for Q. They're the most advance race in Stargate, they knew pretty much everything. The Replicators were destroying the Asgard, the Tau'ri and The Goa'uld all at once, Jack found a way to disable them after only a few minutes of having the ancients knowledge downloaded into his brain. On the Tau'ri, I agree, they would have their asses kicked since they suck and only have like 3-4 x-304 class warships. The Asgard I think are a tad more advanced than the Federation/Dominion I think. They have better hyperdrives for example, being able to cross galaxies in seconds. They may also have better weapons, as the Asgard weapons installed on the Tau'ri ships kicked some Ori ass. But other than that, they seem to have the same kind of technology as the Federation (Matter replicators, transporters). The Borg will kick the Asgard's little grey butts though. The Goa'uld seems correct, although the Klingons may be able to kick their asses. They did put up a good fight against the Federation after all. Edit: Just noticed you put a tie on the Dominion. Are you nuts? The Dominion was able to take on the Federation, Klingons and the Romulans all at once. The Ori I strongly disagree with. I assume by Ori you mean their followers, guided by the Ori (If you mean the Ori themselfs then it's the same as what I said about the ancients). The Ori were able to kick an Asgard battleship, two Tau'ri battleships and several Ha'tak ships without effort. And the priors are another huge bonus, as they can literally perform miracles with their powers. And let's not forget the prior plague, the plague that was able to wipe out the Ancients from the Milky Way galaxy. The Ori will kick the Federation, Dominion and Klingons asses. Not sure about the Borg though, might be a tie. Replicators will defeat everyone except for Q, there's just no doubt about it. If one of them infects a borg cube, it will start replicating by eating the ship from inside. In a matter of days the ship will be full of Replicators, and they will have absorbed the Borg's technology, and adapted it using the knowledge of countless other races. They're pretty much unstoppable as they absorb energy blasts, rendering phasers useless, and they truly live up to their name, being able to replicate themselfs from 1 to a thousand in a few hours. None of the races in Star Trek will be able to stop them from devouring the whole galaxy and turning whole planets into replicator blocks. The Borg have existed for thousands of years but only hold a small part of the Galaxy. The Replicators were able to take over a huge part of the Milky Way in only a few days, and if it wasn't for the Dakara Superweapon the whole galaxy would've been taken over after a week or so.
Star Trek and Stargate are way too different to be compared. It's like comparing Half-Life to Hitman because both have guns in them
Damn, I really need to watch the rest of Deep Space 9... when do the Dominion actually show up?... I think I watched the first two seasons and then got sidetracked.
Stuph
1st. You, you... Come on, you quoted the entire post without even reading it. 2nd, OK, I'm not disagreeing with you, since I basically watch TNG on youtube, and some clips from other series. On the same place. So my knolege is not perfect. And, though I used to be a gatie, I'm a trekkie nao. Seriously, don't quote entire posts of this lenght. Take a part of it, switch all text in quote with something like :words: or Stuph, or partition it. I think I would have used the latter one for this case.

And, like stated before, you can't really compare the two series by saying 'WHO WOULD WIN', they're not really comparable like that.
Replicators would be beaten by the Federation once Geordi figures out how to reverse their polarity.
Do you have a 10" screen or something? :v:
Nope, a 14" one, but I don't like this lenght posts quoted, plus same lenght posters :words: in ONE FRICKIN' POST. Star Trek is the superior show. :v:

what about star wars get some death star up in this shit
what about star wars get some death star up in this shit
While Star Trek and Stargate are science fiction, Star Wars is more like science fantasy. A few Star Destroyers could probably take on the whole Federation fleet and win, although Q could just erase all Star Destroyers from existence.
Are you seriously telling me I wrote too much in my post? Dude, go read a book or something.
No, I don't care, And I actually like that you wrote so much. I'm saying you quoted too much.
Fuck your shit. I love them both.
Fuck your shit. I love them both equally
I'm not saying I don't love them too, but not exactly equally.
What I meant was, they're both really good.
What I meant was, they're both really good.
Yes, they ARE good, as shows. But for strenght, we're debating which is better.
Yes, they ARE good, as shows. But for strenght, we're debating which is better.
In terms of pure strenght, everything added together, the Star Trek universe will always win, since Q and his race Q are.. well, Gods by all definitions.
In terms of pure strenght, everything added together, the Star Trek universe will always win, since Q and his race Q are.. well, Gods by all definitions.
Ascended Ancients and Ori could rival them, surely?
Ascended Ancients and Ori could rival them, surely?
No, whatch the Q episodes in youtube, TNG ones. I reccomend watching from SilverDoe6 and nicklancarno. I think they're buddies anyways. They're more god than all ascended combined. Fuck that, they're stronger than the entire SG universe.
I know what the Q are, but I'm just saying that if anyone could put up a fight it's them. I don't doubt that the Q would win. How many Q are there anyway? Also you know how there was an episode of Voyager where the Q are having a civil war that causes supernovae? Maybe they caused the supernova in Star Trek XI, and that some difference in the new timeline caused by Picard or whoever acting differently will mean it won't happen there. Just a theory though!

Q would surely win, also sorry, didn't get the point of the thread earlier.
