Bernie Sanders has won a primary of American Democrats living abroad, according to a press release.
The group Democrats Abroad, which held a “Global Presidential Primary” earlier this month, announced the results on Monday: Sanders won 69 percent of the vote, compared to just 31 percent for Hillary Clinton.

Thank you for coming into the thread literally less than a minute after it was posted and just ruining the hype before it was a thing.

"I wonder what news will make Bernie sound like he is winning"
Breaking news: Bernie Sanders leads Hillary by 40 points in latest New York and California polls.
At this point I'm willing to let everybody else decide like some giant American idol pagent, nobody but kasich is going to drop before August which means we are stuck listening to news about Trump, Clinton, and Cruz for the foreseeable future
Note: I'm being a realist here, but you guys are seriously underestimating Sander's support in the north... However the realist side of me still think Hillary will get nominated unless, she is in handcuffs.
And this means....what for the actual presidential primary?
And this means....what for the actual presidential primary?
It means Sanders gained 9 delegates and Clinton only got 4.

Look, I admire that you're sticking to your candidate until the very end, and maybe Sanders still has some slight cosmic chance of getting it, but even the most die-hard Bernie supporters have to realize that abroad voters don't make up much of the delegation count, even if Bernie won every single one of them.

Sanders takes Global Presidential Primary by Landslide! A whopping 9 delegates now sets Sanders to clinch Democratic Primary! The hype has been restored
I don't what's more annoying, the super optimists or the super pessimists when it comes to Bernie.
Just show support for who you want to win and don't shit all over each other

California votes in June, however, and is one of the very last states to have a primary. Bernie has to stay afloat until then to make it.

New York has Clinton up 40-20

Ordinary campaign discussion is so passe. Every thread must entirely be made up of polarized meta discussion about who has what chance to win a set of primarys, because in a two candidate race apparently strategic voting is important.
New York has Clinton up 40-20
He has to do better than that at this point. If Clinton keeps raking up enough delegates, it won't matter if he wins the bigger states.
As for tomorrow, Bernie is not doing so well in Arizona with 75 delegates. Hillary is leading by 30 points.

why has the rhetoric always been "that's cute but bernie doesn't actually have a chance just give up and look at the facts!", especially as he's gotten closer and closer
let people get excited, he's got way more support in the coming states than he did in the initial ones, and that really sucks because I'm sure by now a LOT of people are looking at just voting for Clinton like they're somehow throwing away a vote by voting bernie in the primaries because up until now votes are swaying in her favor. Why? Do people just want to vote for the winning team to feel better about themselves? Until the main election hits and it's dem v rep, people have NOTHING to lose by voting for Bernie if they want to, if anything if he's losing people should stick to voting for who they want because it shows how much support they had

'realist'

I think people just want to be right and that's what this whole stupid ongoing depressing shit is about. They just desperately want to be able to go "Haha! Told you Bernie supporters! He stood no chance, and I was right! And everything is terrible! But it's good, cause I'm the ~realistic~ one"
it's all very juvenile. And if anything, it's just made me refuse to give up on Bernie. Why? Because I want him to win, sure, but also because people have been saying Bernie has stood no chance because X happened since this whole shitshow got started. Bernie couldn't stub his fucking toe without people going "Yep, that's it, walking to that stage was a make or break for his campaign and Bernie's got no chance now", and then even if he pulled something off people are like "Yeah ok but he's still going to lose though because blah blah blah ever shifting goalpost" and all that convinces me of is that the people on either side of the debate don't know what they're talking about at all, and I shouldn't listen to their shit. Not that I know what I'm talking about, but I know that Bernie is still in the race and the only thing I'll actually take as gold that he won't be winning is when he himself says "I'm fuckin' done here bruh"
I'm not convinced he's going to win, but I'm also not convinced he's going to lose until he actually fucking loses.

It's not a matter of having a lot of support in coming states, it's a matter of having support in the states with the large delegate counts. Having California and New York is good as they're in the top 5, but he's already lost Florida and Texas which are also in the top 5 big delegate count states.
Not all states are equal in delegates. That's the whole reason I posted my first comment right after the OP - getting hyped that he has a win is irrelevant if it's not a major win.

I don't think I've yet said "Bernie will definitely lose". I've posted several times the past couple months that I do think he has a chance, just s a slim and small one.
Also, is it not realistic to believe that abroad delegate count is insignificant to the election?
Bernie had 30,000 people at his rally last night, gonna be interesting to see the media and bernie deniers watch the rest of this upset
The problem Bernie has is he needs to have some landslide victories.
Every "60 to 40" win Bernie has still adds to Clinton's delegate count which has already exceeded his by a great deal. 60 sounds like a big number and yes it closes the gap, but when Clinton gets delegates too, it only closes the gap a small distance.

What is she like 300 delegates ahead? thats nothing compared to the states coming up

Oh yeah I agree with you. It was mostly me joking around.

I'll be eagerly awaiting your next meltdown when Bernie loses the big states.

I'll patiently be waiting for said upset to happen. My prediction is that Bernie falls short of his goals, like he has in all states thus far, and Hilliary exceeds goals.
I'll be eagerly awaiting your next meltdown when Bernie loses the big states.
The next "big" states are Arizona and Washington. Washington is easily predicted to go to Sanders considering he has a large base of support there and it's one of the most progressive states in the nation. Arizona is really hard to predict demographically, so tomorrow could be a toss-up.
Sanders crushes Clinton among many interesting demographics. Unfortunately they aren't the ones who matter.
