I am using a wireless router to connect to my Wii (lol). Recently, I have been unable to connect my router and my wii. If I bring my laptop to the same spot my Wii sits in, I can connect with the laptop and get an excellent signal. How can I make my Wii detect my wireless router in "Search for an access point"?
-Wireless SSID broadcast is on
-I am using channel 11
-My router is a Siemens SE 587 Gigaset and I have been able to connect before.
-It is a MIXED router (802.11b and g)
-My wii is in the room directly above my router
-I have ensured that there are no metal objects below the wii and on the router

don't be gay, help today.
Is the router encrypted?
Are you sure the wii isn't the issue? Try get a friends wii to connect from the same spot.
EDIT: Laptops also seem to have higher detection than other devices. My laptop easily gets what my psp cant.
Are you sure both devices are close enough? My PS3 picks up signals that no other device in my house can.
What wireless bands can your Wii receive? (I don't know anything about Wiis) If the built in wireless card is N, a b/g router won't be able to communicate with the Wii very well/at all.

You have no idea about wireless networking at all. N is completely backwards compatible with B and G. An N card will be able to pick up B/G signals with no issue.

Then my N adapter must be broken. :ohdear:
