Looking for Graphic Designer - General

Bugger, I lack experience (been designing for a year professionally) but have mad skills at typesetting. Comic Sans makes me cringe, Arial is an abomination. I lack a portfolio since I've mainly been focusing on icon design. I designed some stuff for a person who one day cut off all contact with the world. Christ I'd love to apply but I can't! Maybe he gives you a test task or something, and you ace it and so on, and poff you got the job. Also, i think everyone in Creationism corner cringes when they see comic sans, even my teacher made a joke about it.
