PC Specs: AMD Phenom II X2 545 @ 3Ghz 4GB of 1333Mhz RAM ATI XFX 4890 1GB edition Antec 900 case So I've had my new computer for the past 3 weeks and everything has been running fine. However over the past few days it keeps rebooting at random points. The error message looks like this: (Media tagged for size) (Ignore the basic background and everything i was making a new account when the first crash occurred) The reboots seemed similar to what happened to my old computer when it started over heating, so I downloaded CPUID hardware monitor. This was the result: As you can see the CPU, HDD and Core temperature are all at very good temperatures. However my graphics card is at 50 degree's Celsius when idle. Under load (playing left 4 dead 2) it's temperature goes up to 71 degree's Celsius. I went into the Catalyst control Center thinking to adjust the fan speeds manually to keep the card cooler, however when I get there everything is grayed out so I can not change any settings. So has anyone got any advice, or should i return this to the manufacturer (it's still under warranty)
Click on the Key symbol and you can change settings in CCC [editline]02:35PM[/editline] Put the fan at 50% [editline]02:38PM[/editline] Oh and the card obviously isn't broken as if there was a real hardware error, you wouldn't be able to see the desktop
Ok set the fan speed at 50%, loaded up left 4 dead 2, got 2 minutes into the game and got the same crash and same error. Temperatures were still at 70 degree's. Then set the fan speed at 100% and still have the same problems. I have also tried this with other games and it still keeps getting the same problem.
