One of the planes, a single-seat Piper Pawnee, was towing a glider. The pilot of the Piper died in the collision, said Rick Brough of the Boulder County Sheriff's Office. After the collision, the pilot of the glider was able to detach from the plane and land safely, Brough said. The second aircraft involved in the collision was a Cirrus SR 20. Two people on that plane also died, Brough said. Authorities began receiving reports of a plane crash around 1:30 p.m. (3:30 p.m. ET), Brough said, adding that people had seen flames in the air in an area less than five miles from the Boulder Municipal Airport.
How the fuck does this even happen.
Someone made an Airor
We're gonna need more space in the air, it seems. EDIT: ^ hahahaha
How the fuck does this even happen.
One of them blew through a stop sign.
No one died they got teleported to the 70's.
obamma sfault
Were the pilots looking at their feet for 10 minutes or something?
Was ATC sleeping again?
Someone made an Airor
Can News Puns PLEASE be a bannable offense again? Now they are all you see for the first two pages of any major news article. Anyway, sucks that it happened, at least the guy in the glider made it though.

Lankist! :argh: [img] Also, I facepalm every time I hear about planes colliding into each other. How does that shit even happen, as mentioned above?

This is actually incredibly badass (apart from the deaths :frown:) because the glider that was being towed by the smaller plane managed to disconnect on impact and glide to safety.
How is it that people keep crashing planes into eachother in mid-air? Are they flying with their eyes closed or are they so busy watching their instruments that they don't watch the sky anymore?

SET DESTINATION: Denny's 2 hours later driving in the middle of a desert "Don't worry guys! It's got to be around here somewhere!"
C'mon people use nocolide.
Wow imagine being the pilot of the glider and seeing the tug collide with the other plane. I can just imagine him like "oh shit oh shit" and mashing whatever button it is that disconnects the glider from the tug. I'm glad at least he survived. [editline]12:04PM[/editline] This reminds me of when a light aircraft crashed into a heli-tours helicopter in New York last summer.

Then they blamed it all on the GPS and how they were victims of GPS technology. Not only that, but they spent I think two days in the car wrapped in the mountain of blankets, eating and drinking the holiday leftovers they had in the car with them until someone found them stuck there. All I could think of was "Why is this on the news?".

Why is Colorado suddenly becoming so prone to news these days? I never see any of this shit happen...
Meanwhile, bears were fighting with laser guns below where Michael Phelps and Gary Busey were fighting soviet zombies off with their super powers. Today is an epic day.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8502704.stm Video of one of the planes parachuting to the ground
Shit. Was that a safety parachute to reduce the aircrafts rate of decent or was it the pilots? I'd hate to think it was the pilots and he just couldn't get out in time.

Wow. I even thought this was impossible. That's quite a slip-up, because even if someone did accidentally ordered two planes to fly at each other, the some-sorta anti-air collide system would've taken care of that in a matter of few seconds.

It also requires both planes transmitting some signal with its current speed and altitude for one TCAS system to work.

Are you retarded? There were 4 people total, 2 in one plane, 1 in another, and 1 in the glider, the glider pilot detached and landed.
