Today I recieved my package from UPS about 5 minutes after I got out of bed. The package included: CM047C, Smart Charger, An Echo 1 Ak74 Hi-Cap, and Revision Desert Locust Goggles. This review is but an initial review, I'll post updates here once the gun goes through a couple thousand rounds. Sorry, but all the pictures are from my Cell Phone. The Ak-74M is the Assault Rifle of the Modern Russian Federation. While some AKMs still are in service, and AK74s, the 74M is their standard at least on paper. Unlike preview AKs, the 74M comes in black synthetic furniture. All Ak74s fire a 5.45 mm round that gives the AK accuracy much better than the 47, and makes it more controllable on fully automatic. The AK-74M is a pretty heavy gun. It weighs around 9 or 10 pounds. Everything but the pistol grip, stock, and handguard are metal. The Plastic used on here is pretty nice, it feels durable, and it has a nice texture. Pretty ergonomic for an AK. The only wobble on here is a tiny bit on the stock and mag that aren't really noticeable. The handguard is rock solid, no wobble whatsoever. Only problem I have had at all yet is that the charging handle gets stuck back, because the nut attached to the spring comes loose. All you gotta do is push it back with a screwdriver, and it's fine. The battery cover/rear receiver is kind of a pain to reattach at first, but it gets easier. There is the handguard, very comfortable and solid feeling. The paint on the metal isn't extremely strong, but the scratches give it more character. The Folding Full stock is an awesome feature, as you have a rifle that can be DMR length nearly, and then fold the stock and have a gun nearly the size of an AKS-74u. Showing off the short length the folding stock can be provided. I had no problem getting through my crowded garage, and believe me, no CQB field is that tight. The orange flash hider isn't that bad, it's barely noticeable. My gun shoots around 377 FPS, but it runs from 350-80ish generally. To see how hard it felt, I shot myself at point blank, which caused two bloody welts. God I hope Airsoft isn't usually this bad. Accuracy is good out to 200 feet, and it shoots fairly straight. ROF is pretty good. The selector switch is in Cyrillic, like most AKs; Safe at the top, then Automatic, then Semi-Automatic. The iron sights are pretty good, they're adjustable, both metal. The front sight is nice, and the rear one is usable, but not exactly necessary. with stock folded Stock Extended Hopefully this gun won't fail me soon, and as I've been told, CYMAs above the Cm039 are insanely good. hahahaha you shot yourself point blank why the fuck would you oh my god ahaha
I guess all that patience paid off. Nice review. EDIT: Why would you shot yourself in the foot hahahahha
Lol, does it always hurt that bad?
considering you just shot yourself point blank, no it doesn't hurt that bad, lol.
Ok, I mean, aside from the blood, it wasn't that bad. I just hopped on the other foot. First shot bounced off a bone, so it didn't hurt anywhere near as much as the other. Some ricochets only bounced off my shirt. The Desert Locusts are amazing, but fog fairly easily if you're sweaty. Also, when the stock is folded into place, it makes a very nice click. The only problem I have is that the charging handle keeps coming loose. A nut on the little rod that the charging handle is on comes loose if I pull the bolt back and let loose. Easily fixed, but its annoying. Any ideas?
JB weld lol but yeah about your DL's, look inside them and remove the foam filters at the bottom and top of the goggles. unless you're going to be playing in a desert sandstorm, you don't need them (DL's were designed for afghaniraq), and the foam inserts are likely what's causing your goggles to fog.
Oh ok. I was trying it on with my Hatta (Shemagh) and it took 10 seconds to fog. [editline]18th July 2011[/editline] You mean the dark grey fuzzy thing between the lens and rubber?
yeah that i can take a picture of mine if you really need, but yeah it's the grey fuzzy foam
Yeah, I took that out, and with my Shemagh on, no fog at all. Only downside is I left so much behind trying to pull it out. [editline]18th July 2011[/editline] Everything I got today.
Does anyone make a AK-74M with black furniture and a FIXED stock?
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=2881 But seriously, this folding stock is amazing. When folded, you have a CQB weapon, which I find extremely handy. It also feels very sturdy.
I don't see how a folded stock makes a rifle CQB ready anymore than an unfolded stock.
It cuts off about a foot of length.
Does anyone make a AK-74M with black furniture and a FIXED stock?
KWA's ERG and GBBR line that's due to be out extremely late this year has one. They're making the 74M with both fixed and folded, along with the Krinkov and some M4's.
ERG?
electric recoil gun or something it's their iteration of the whole electric blowback dealio
ERG: Electric Recoil Gun is KWA's introduction of their electric blowback which sports a recoil engine (KFS). With various electric blowback's on the market that do not actually have a recoil engine, the ERG carries on a more proper term to describe an electric gun, where the bolt cycles along with the recoil engine.
i don't care for the blowback, but the ERG line is supposed to have an electric cutoff in the mag, so when you're out of rounds, you can't fire!! (of course you can toggle it for dryfiring)
Electric Recoil Gun god fucking damnit I keep getting ninjad D:
double ninja by me~
I might save up for one of these KWA AK's then
God but the KWA costs SOOO MUCH.
That's why you start saving now, plenty of time to get funds for one
That's what I've been trying to do, I've been raking in the dosh from my love/drug deals, but then I see a super sexy SVD and a PSO-1, and I decided to order one. Also waiting on a SERPA and some other random shit to come in.
