I built this: Video Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125295 Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119122 Mother Board: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131402 Power Supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139006 Processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103674 RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231193 Hard Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136098 I skimped on the Hard drive and the Video card for now because I don't plan on much high end gaming for awhile. The harddrive is temporary so I would like to get another. If anyone is wondering, I got the above build for 747.16 total, with shipping/taxes. I think it's a pretty good build but I want to know what I could get to finish it off strong. Note: I don't need a DVD drive [using an old one] What I am considering for now are Hard drives, sound cards, and CPU coolers. Or anything else you think I could use. The budget is $300!

I've had 2/2 Seagates die on me in the past few years so I don't really feel like giving them anymore of my money, mind suggesting a western digital instead?
WD Caviar Black with 32Mb cache, 7200 rpm You select the size http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010150014%2050001306%201035507776%201035424340&name=Western%20Digital
I assume black is the best one of the western digital colors?
Green is energy saving I'm not too sure what Blue is, but Black is faster
Blue - 16 MB cache, 7200 rpm Green - 8-16 MB cache, 5400-7200 rpm (it never runs at 7200 don't get your hopes up) Black - 32 MB cache, 7200 rpm, 2 additional years of warranty
i recommend Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB or 2TB
Get this along with the 5770 that Adzicents posted. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136284
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102858
It performs pretty much like everything else, i don't notice much speed difference from the green.
Above is true. I notice some difference from the black. But only a very minor one.
I think it's only with transferring files that it matters.
i recommend Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB or 2TB
If and when getting the 2TB, make sure it's 64mb Cache
Does anyone see the price of the 5770, or 5850 going down around christmas?
Does anyone see the price of the 5770, or 5850 going down around christmas?
I thought they went up.
I haven't paid attention but it makes sense, I think the supply is down so they raised the prices... :[ I really don't want to be buying a high end card right now anyways...
don't get a GT220 it is a waste of cash look for a lower end mobo and cpu say \ 785+955 and 5770
.... you don't read well do ya? I already BUILT that.
I haven't paid attention but it makes sense, I think the supply is down so they raised the prices... :[ I really don't want to be buying a high end card right now anyways...
5770 isn't a high-end card. 5770 and WD Blue is your best option right now.
.... you don't read well do ya? I already BUILT that.
I would've put "already" in CAPS. Why would you put emphasis on "built?"
Well if it isn't high-end I don't want it then! I don't want to upgrade the GPU until I can get a nice high-end one and then buy another later on to crossfire them. So I guess 5770 is out of the picture now. I will probably get that caviar black tho. What else. [editline]06:04AM[/editline]
I would've put "already" in CAPS. Why would you put emphasis on "built?"
Because thats the word I used multiple times in OP and title of the thread.
Why are you on an alt?
decided I liked my old account better.
