Mass Effect fan makes 400-page rewrite of Mass Effect 3
Some Mass Effect fans protested the trilogy's conclusion with cupcakes; others used Internet petitions. Gerry Pugliese was a little more ambitious. The self-proclaimed "huge Mass Effect fan" wrote a 400-page script that he calls "a fan revision, and blueprint, for fixing Mass Effect 3."
Called Mass Effect 3: Vindication, the script is full of new dialogue and missions for the controversial third entry in BioWare's sci-fi series. It's a book, not a mod, so don't expect to play through Pugliese's changes, but if you're up for some heavy reading, you'll find a ton of new scenes, choices, descriptions, and revisions involving big plot points, character relationships, and that much-discussed ending.
I didn't even like Me3 and even I think this is silly.
Let's watch Shepard's ass save the galaxy again! Now, with 400 page script of rewritten story!
Jesus Christ, I can understand the massive mountain of disappointment expressed by fans but holy shit guy, it's just a game.
Somebody really likes the ME series a bit too much.
how can you obsess over something as average as Mass Effect from a narrative point of view.
Talk about dedication. I haven't played any of the other Mass Effect games besides the third, so I won't comment on how I thought the ending was.
Keep in mind he also did this because he wanted an example of his writing ability; and with this he may be able to get into the games industry of writing narratives. Who knows

have you ever seen hardcore bioware fans. ME/DA is fucking life to those people, its creepy and sad
Eh. People did it for the Star Wars prequels. Props to the guy on following through with it. It's more than I've ever done.
I wasn't that disappointed by ME3's ending to be honest. Probably because I never got to see the original version.

Take a look at the Big World project for Baldur's Gate, that's an obsession if ever there was one. One of my favorite pastimes involved solo runs through it.
Kind of awesome of the guy, he was passionate enough to write a huge thing about something he really enjoyed.
Gotta love fans somtimes

would you say the same thing about a 400 page MLP erotica?

Interesting comparison to choose :v:
Meanwhile I spent that amount of time he used to write that playing video games.
People like to spend there time differently I suppose
As a big ME fan myself I have alot of sympathy for this guy :(

Well i mean, it'd be weird and nasty as shit but if the guy really enjoyed MLP enough, the dedication would be commendable at least.

IMHO you'd have to rethink your whole life if you tried to do something as, well, 'out-there' as all that, to put it politely.
the dedication would be commendable at least.
it would certainly be something
Just want to point out that some people do actually enjoy writing as a hobby and passtime. He most likely writes all kinds of stuff. It's a creative outlet just like any other.
rewriting a video game story isn't what I would call excessively 'creative'
it would certainly be something
It wouldn't be like anyone could read it anyway, the pages would be stuck together too much for anyone to leaf through it
Reading it so far... its... interesting. I disagree with Liara's appearance changes, but so far its not half bad.
Creative nerd power in full display.
I love it.
Mass Effect is essentially "you are good guys these are bad guys kill bad guys"

Almost every game is essentially "you are good guys these are bad guys kill bad guys"
