pmsl, reminds me of a gaping security hole in a British NHS hospital I found this time last year which basically gave shell access to anyone with the IP of the firewall for that particular hospital.
Note to all budding system administrators: RTFM and change your defaults system credentials.

Do they honestly not have network-disconnected, regular backups? I understand that security can always be defeated, but there's no excuse for not protecting data in simple ways like that.

asking for a low amount for personal information would actually increase his chance of getting it, since the hospital would gladly pay such a low price for important, confidential patient files.
