Too bad, he was the only officer on board the whole Death Star with any balls.

Anyone else surprised he was only 66?
Tarkin wasn't around to call off vader this time
What's with Vadar's voice in the clip?
[editline]16th April 2013[/editline]
I guess it has been long since I watched old Star Wars
Vader's voice in A New Hope is considerably more metallic and high-pitched than the other films.

Guess they Executed Order 66 after all

After he tossed the emperor to his death, Vader decided to tie up loose ends.

It's strange but it seems to me it's only for that line.

All starwars aside, it's kinda a depressing irony I guess, you're famous for a choking scene in a movie and you end up choking to death.
How annoying that the article says Motti "commanded Vader's planet destroying Death Star".
Last I checked Tarkin was running the show on the Death Star, not Vader.
Headline of the day.

As far as I can see the article says nothing about him choking to death. I think the OP's title was just meant to mean "choke" as in "died" in general and not literally choking to death.
I actually teared up a little bit when I read this. I met Richard a while ago and honestly he was one of the finest men I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. I guess we're getting to the point where lots of the OT actors will be leaving us shortly.

Oh, well then I'm a terrible person who's too lazy to click news article links then huh?

His voice is deep, his tone isn't.

Honestly he sounds like he was smiling as he said it.

the clip is sped up slightly to avoid the copyright filter, listen to the full clip mooman posted and you'll notice everyone is slightly helium-voiced
It would have been terrible but I was expecting him to have died of strangulation for some reason.

66 years old is relatively old. And also relatively a fraction of time.
Anyway, it seems to me that a lot of American celebrities seem to enjoy their lives faster and shorter. Maybe it is the money, money and the drugs.
Huh, he may of been related to a branch of my family tree. Minus three letters and it's the same name. Then again I've found like 50 people with my last name that aren't related to my tree at all.

He's actually British. His parents were from Ireland and Guernsey, but he spent his childhood in Pennsylvania I believe. He then moved to England and lived in Somerset.

This is probably PAL encoded, which increases the frame rate to 25 from 24 to accommodate for European TV's, adding a chipmunk effect.

Vader had a lot more emotion in his voice in A New Hope.
Huh, he played a role in star was and was choked by darth vader, and died at age 66...
And in star wars order 66 was when the clones turned ageinst the jedi...
Oh my god, it's a conspiracy.
