Is it okay to leave your power supply on 24/7? When I turn off my pc I also noticed that the power supply stays on. My old shitty pc started to fail because the psu started dieing from leaving it on 24/7. So should I manually turn it off as I turn of my PC or would it be okay to leave it on?
You mean turning the power supply off from the switch at the back of it?
The only time I ever touch the switch on the back is if I am going out for extended periods of time.
Paranoid about fire.
The computer should stay on to a certain extent all the time if it's a modern motherboard. There are lights on the board that indicate that it's got basic power, that keeps the CMOS clock ticking and also the BIOS settings alive. When you disconnect a PSU completely from the mains/turn off its switch, you leave the CMOS's watch battery to power it. When that battery runs out, your computer can become quite annoying. It won't remember bios settings and the fans may activate after a power outage despite the PC being off. Keep the power supply ON unless worried about fire and going on a long journey.
Your PSU keeps +5Vsb on all the time, as if it wouldn't you wouldn't even be able to turn on your PSU, and that output supports also those lights on your motherboard with electricity.
