You've probably seen stereoscopic images before, this thread is assuming you know how to look at them properly, if you don't, here's a link to the Stereoscopic images thread

First, you will need an image. Mine will be this one I made a while back.

I'm using Photoshop CS5, you can use whatever the hell you want, just make sure it has the basic features like selecting, cutting and painting. Click the Image tab, then click on Image Size. Remember the width and height.
Now go to File > New. Enter the same height as before but double the width. When you're done, you should have the same canvas as the picture below.

Now just right click on the layer in the picture before and click Select Pixels. Ctrl+C Ctrl+V that shit both times to the new canvas and align them side by side. You should have something looking like the pic above. You're going to work with the LEFT part of the picture. Now, divide the photo into slices in your mind, you need to determine if the slices are farther away or if they are closer to you. Cut them with the help of any tool, I used the Pen tool for this one, and move them using the arrow buttons. If it's closer to you, nudge them left, if they're farther away, nudge them right, it's simple shit. Hopefully you'll get something like this.

You'll notice that there are some cracks in there, we'll use different tools according to the type of the crack. If it's surrounded by one color, as in the Awesome Face moon, then create a layer underneath, whip out your pencil tool and start filling it in. If it's a more complex part, then use the Clone Stamp tool to sample and fill. Once you're done, zoom out and stare cross-eyed at your masterpiece. That's right, it's done. But if you want to do a bit more sophisticated one, then you'll need to use the Warp tool. I won't get into that here, but here's an example:
Without Warp

With Warp on the Moon

Hope you've enjoyed my thread, and I welcome everyone to post their own creations
Don't complain that the images are too big, I made them so that you would actually enjoy them. Use Ctrl+
Stereoscopic porn is actually awesome, just so rare.
Somehow I'm the only person in my friend and family circle who can actually look at stereo pictures.

Vid I found, small as shit but works.

I can't cross my eyes :saddowns:
[editline]7th February 2011[/editline]
At least i have a pair of red/cyan 3D glasses :cool::fh:
I can cross my eyes but I can never focus while crossed.
I can cross my eyes but I can never focus while crossed.
You'll get used to it of you practice, but in the end you'll probably have to wear glasses
This reminds me of those magic eye things they printed in papers a while back. I miss those.
I was born crossed eyed and had to wear glasses for 14 years thanks to it and even I can't get these pictures to work,
There's better ways to make stereoscopic images than this...

Is it actually permanently damaging to do this for longish periods of time (5 minutes)?
Also, I find it very hard to focus once I have found the "third" image.

This is for 2D images that you want to convert to 3D
are you stupid? there's nothing 3d about this

Expected this. I was dissapointed.
That isn't really stereoscopic. Sterescopic images aren't just two copies of an image next to each other, it's gotta be from two different angles (eye angles). Your brain can't magically turn a picture into 3D looking only from one angle, it needs visual information from both angles to work.
A stereoscopic camera: (as you can see, it takes 2 images from 2 angles, same as your eyes)

my eye muscles
I can cross my eyes but I can never focus while crossed.
I found that it's easier when the images are smaller.
are you stupid? there's nothing 3d about this
If you want, you could move it 10 more pixels to fuck your eyes over, but see even deeper 3D
The deeper it is, the harder it is to see. This also applies to most porn types. I wanted a mild 3D effect, not to ruin every Facepunchers eye health
I dont get how people can cross their eyes enough to watch 3D porn. I try until my eyes hurt, but I still can't get the image to shift enough.
It may not be real 3D when you duplicate an image, but it seems 3D, at least to me. And it doesn't damage your eyes either. I can do it for hours.

i love you
yeah those pics above work with the eye-crossing. However, I have these glasses for making it easier to view stereoscopic images. They don't seem to work when I stare at a screen...
It doesn't work that way. To view those pictures in 3D, you'd have to have a special set up which would allow for the frames to be aternated on the screen and on the syncronized glasses.
Unless, of course, you're talking about the cyan/magenta glasses:

I'm talking about stereoscopic lenses, such as the ones that come along with this album's art:

I'll say, these glasses very much work with the art in the package, but I'm starting to think the reason I don't achieve the effect on a computer screen is because the images simply are too big.

i don't think you understand stereoscopic
I can't cross my eyes, but if I try hard to relax them, i can view some small pictures in 3D. It's kinda out of focus anyway
