• HD 5770 solo?

I'm planning to build a new computer for myself finally, and I have the other parts looked up and chosen, but I need help with choosing a GPU. So Facepunch, I would like to ask you: Would a HD 5770 be able to run modern games like CoD: MW2 on high settings alone if I didn't crossfire it? The motherboard and PSU I have do support crossfire, so I could possibly buy another 5770 in the future, but currently I only have the money for one. The other GPU choices for me are 4870, GTX260 and 4770. My mobo not being able to do SLI has put me off the GTX260, but if I go for a single card, would it be a good choice? Another option is the 4770 which I could Crossfire at a later date. Thanks in advance.
Yup, the 5770 should be able to max MW2. I can almost max it running 2x 4670 (roughly the same as a 4850). [editline]02:25PM[/editline] I run smoothly at 1920x1080 with 2x AA and all max quality.
I run MW2 on a HD3870 pretty well (on 1024*768 that is, yes I have a small monitor) without any lag or freezes. Here are some more benchmarks for the card, showing that the 5770 is clearly better than my old 3870: http://www.pcgameshardware.de/screenshots/original/2009/10/HD5770-SCS-1280.png http://www.pcgameshardware.de/screenshots/original/2009/10/HD5770-CoD5-1280.png
Nicey. Thanks.
