Let the futuristic robot wars begin! Weighing in at over 4 tons, this 13 foot tall, iphone controlled mechwarrior robot exoskeleton wields twin gatling guns and is ready to destroy everything on planet Earth with a smile... literally.
The million dollar human piloted robot was unveiled by Suidobashi Heavy Industry at the Wonder Festival in Tokyo, Japan.
Currently, the gatling guns fire airsoft style BB rounds at 6000 rounds per minute all when the pilot "smiles".
Read on to see more of this beast and even a few videos of it being unveiled and in action.
I'm pretty sure that if they make it fire real bullets, the U.S. Army will want some of these.
You know the Japanese make good stuff.
Soon my dreams of being a Gundam pilot will come to fruition
Eh, movement is really stiff. That cockpit had me hard as fuck though.
THE SMILE SHOT
METAL GEAR!
It has a smile to shot function :v:
Imagine having a airsoft battle with nothing but these mechs, I'd totally want to participate in that.
On the other hand when I looked on the website for the customization prices, this thing is obviously extremely overpriced. Just think about it, $12000 just to add a leather cockpit chair and $100 for a simple cup holder? That's insane.
holy goddamn that is a BEAUT.
The robot is pretty cool, as well.
All of my money...
Not sure how anyone can go to the trouble of spending 10's of thousands and then buy a cheap microphone for the model to use.
If I were stupidly rich I'd buy this in a heartbeat
This is one step closer to mecha warfare. This may not work at the moment, but with the right ideas, it will work. Replace the wheels for example with say, tank treads or some wheel that can't easily be shot off, improve the armor, etc, and then we got a working mech. Not like the walkers mind you, we are still struggling with that.
"It is gasoline fueled and runs on a diesel engine"
What?

Mech warfare may exist in the future, but walking mechs will most likely never exist. Legs aren't exactly as cool as anime would make you think.

Agile walkers with high tensile strength and agility of a super-human would work fairly well in a CQC situation, more agile and faster around locations that a track or wheel based mech.
This is waaaaay in the future but we can dream... right?
Guys, if we ever go to war with Japan, we're pretty much fucked
"It is gasoline fueled and runs on a diesel engine"
What?
She probably meant its just diesel powered...
...you know how it is with these Japanese videos/instructions.

Yeah, too many weak points and to prone to falling over, even with the most advanced gyrostabilizers available.
I seriously cannot get over how much I want this thing. Seriously. It's so damn cool
also the lady in the video was rather good looking
I mean, that's what sells war to me
a good lookin' lady

Well yes, but perhaps the legs won't be actually used for walker. I just remembered Armored Core, where the mechs are of the humanoid build, but they use boosters and hovering instead of actually walking on most occasions. There are still the traditional walkers we know, but I think the hovering humanoid ones would be more possibly. Still, we'd have to build the wheeled mechs first before we work on the others.

Your name has never been more appropriate than right now.
at that point, you're better off using a tank
i mean, if a mech has arms and shit, those could easily be blown off and are subject to inaccuracy
whereas a tank barrel with a multiple machineguns operated by the crew is both accurate, compact, and not over-complicated in terms of design
I'd say if you want to see a plausible depiction of mechs, you should check out a game called Chromehounds, they are more like mobile firing platforms then anything
THE SMILE SHOT
It sounds so dirty, doesn't it?
That video is awesome
We are getting closer to Armored Cores, I don't mind this
Calling it now, Japan's gonna put a nuke on this thing, and we're gonna have to send in Snake
THE SMILE SHOT
That part seems kind of flawed.
If I were driving in my own mech, I would be smiling the whole time.

Right after they go bankrupt.
It can cost over 2 million USD.
Looks like a pretty cool mecha, even moreso when it's only a million dollars; i'd have expected it to be more costly. With improvements, this could be amazing for some kind of "Mechwarrior Airsoft" thing, which would probably be pretty popular in Japan.
Its the most beautiful thing Ive ever seen
It begins!
