Good Day Guys! This is my first post and I'm doing this mostly becaues I was referred to by a friend to get some opinions and advice from this forum. I have worked with upgrading before but I was young and foolish and this will be my first time to build a computer from scratch. My budget is $1500 for the CPU only. I plan on running this thing on a 32" 1080p 120Hz VIZIO TV. I may go smaller but not bigger. I am in the USA but I will have to bring this to the Philippines with me when I go home. I would like to be able to play games like BF3. I will also use this computer to run Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 3.1 as well as statistical software such as SAS 9.2 and Sigmaplot. I had been thinking about using a 1000W Power Supply and in fact my first choise was an ANTEC 1000W but I feared it would not fit in the case I chose. I opted for the 1000W because I might decide to buy a new GPU and run SLI on this computer. Also, if I do not run this on a 32" 1080 TV, I might go for two smaller LCDs and run split screen. And also, Ivy or Sandy? lol Other hardware I plan to get that's not listed are: 2x 1TB Seagate Barracuda 6.0Gb/s Standard DVD-ROM RW I'm currently running an Alienware M17-R1 and an Alienware M17x-R3. The R1 I'm happy with but the R3 I bought last year is making me regret buying it. I need a desktop now since I have two powerful laptops and since I will be going home soon. Anyway, any suggestion/advice/opinion is welcome. I'm a complete noob so sfeel free to bash me. Take it easy though :P THANKS!
Get a seasonic X850, don't get that retarded ripjaws shit just get standard 1600 ram without the mega ass heatsinks, why are you getting a 2011 socket? Get an i7 3770k and an asus Z77 deluxe or sabertooth if you really want a nice board, also the standard 670 is $20 cheaper.
Thanks for the advice. the Z77 will save me some money but I'd like to know more about what I get and what I lose about using an Ivy Bridge as opposed to a Sandy Bridge-E and between the standard 670 and the 670 I have listed above. Also, what would you suggest for RAM? The advice is good and all but it would be helpful to provide some explanations as to why one is preferred over the other. This is money we're talking about :)

Not worth 20 bucks. Also, get a real power suppy like he said.

Because its the new architecthure, uses less power, pci-e 3.0 compatible along with USB 3.0 and all that jazz.
Hey guys, I'm just waiting for newegg to get in stocks for the 3770k but other than that I believe this is my final build: Processor: Core i7-3770k Ivy Bridge Keyboard: Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Mouse: Razer Imperator now comes another question, what would you guys suggest I use as a monitor? I had been jumping between Samsung and Vizio because I want to have my monitor and my TV as one thing so I'd like this monitor to be a good enough TV around 27 inches maybe? but which one obviously it needs to be 1080p and preferably at 120Hz any suggestions and comments on the build are welcome
Dont get a blackwidow, get a DAS. Id use the monitor.
