Yeah they're called BAM's (Bad Ass Monster's).
Honestly Tera's F2P model is pretty good and subscribing has decent incentives as well if you enjoy playing the game hardcore enough. I found it worthwhile to buy the retail copy as you get a lot of goodies for like $20 but I liked the game enough to get the Collector's which gives you a Lion mount and some other cool physical goodies and comes in an awesome treasure chest box.

The launcher is a piece of crap. It downloads to 99%, gets stuck so I restart it, it scans download and then starts all over again from 0%

And the worst part is, due to a shitty attempt at balancing out their smaller size and shorter reach, they were given a lot of forward movement on a lot of their attacks, making them arguably the best race. They're [I]everywhere[/I].
Also I don't know if this has changed, as I haven't played the game in months, but the gear progression is heavily tied to RNG-based microtransactions, and gear stats carry over to pvp. It completely defeats the point of the "twitch based combat". The game was significantly better when it was pay2play

I have never understood why modern MMO's that are guild centric haven't done this yet? WoW completely fropped the ball when Garrisons were single player only. Tera and Rift are the only two I have seen do a Guild Housing thing, Rift was the coolest because you were able to buy furniture and build your own areas.
My one coworker tried to get me and another to play this. We decided that the game was far too clunky, so we all made one of those races and formed a guild called the Lolipop Guild. It's pretty funny that they're entirely female.

Guild Wars was pretty good with this. They had a pretty good variety of guild halls and you could purchase all sorts of merchants to be there.
I played TERA before. Yeah, there's a race consisting entirely of small girls. Contrary to what BDA says, most of what I've come across are fully clothed, I've never seen that kind of swimwear clothing before.
F2P is not that bad. I've gotten far without paying and a few friends of mine have reached the level cap with a few different characters. They're all broke as shit.
If you want a horse or something that moves faster or looks cooler than the one you get through playing, that's something you pay for. A lot of novelty clothing you pay for too. There's other stuff like EXP boosters and such.
Kinda grindy tho. If anybody decides to play it, remember that finishing quests > grinding a bunch of monsters, even if the quest itself tells you to kill x monsters. The EXP reward helps out.
Also, the game runs like dogshit for me. For an unreal game. Don't know whats going on there.

On the bright side, those outfits cost either real money or are prohibitively expensive on the market.
I can just imagine somebody turning their nose up at the price in the store, OFFENDED at how expensive it is. So they decide to earn it f2p, grinding dungeons endlessly until they can FINALLY buy the outfit.

the male part of the race is the popori but you never learn that unless you play in the original language or go through the data files. the outfits also way toned down for the NA and Euro releases, you hardly see anything like that unless you have the patch that restores the meshes to the original Korean ones.

But that's not the censored version? They stopped giving a shit about the censors after the game launched. I mean the vanilla armors are censored but anything past T12 gear is left the same way the Korean version has it.

I loved TERA when it came out but once you hit endgame there's fuck all to do except the unbalanced as shit PvP where Archers are king and everyone else can eat the dirt.
