SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- A woman in South Carolina who stole a collection jar that was meant to help a 19-month-old girl with a brain tumor is now out of jail.
Spartanburg deputies arrested Julie Cothran, 38, after she stole the collection jar from a convenience store, they said.
Cothran was caught on surveillance camera and later admitted she took the money to support her drug addiction, deputies said.
The girl is at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. A fundraiser is being held Saturday to raise money for the baby's family.[/release]
I'm at a loss of words. That's really fucking low...
Spartanburg? I find that to be a silly name for a town.
Either way, that was really a terrible thing to do. I hope the fundraiser helps.
Pathetic

This is where I flipped my shit.
lmao meth addicts

She must have been smoking Marijuana! What a vile fucking substance!
wow that's low
Honestly not too surprised, really, especially if she's addicted to meth. Really causes you to disregard pretty much everything except your addiction.
That baby is greedy, obviously this woman needs to fuel her addiction.
Meth does that to people, they only care about taking more meth.

I would rate funny....but....
:smith:
Yeah people spot on, it's drugs fault. That woman is innocent.
When I read the title I thought she was stealing it for the baby.
Huh, is it just me...or are women doing more and more stupid shit to catch up to men?
Well the bright side is that, with the media coverage now, they will most certainly get more donations.
Stay classy, America. :v:

Nobody fucking mentioned Marijuana.

He was obviously sarcastic

Oh then I apologize. Its hard for me to know if people are sarcastic about marijuana since everyone argues so much about it here on Facepunch.
When I first read the thread title, I thought the story would be about a woman who stole a donation jar to help her cancer-stricken baby. I had mixed feelings. Now, after reading the post, I just feel crappy.

:ohdear:
probably crack or meth. most other drugs don't have addictions like those ones.
It happens a lot more than people like to admit. When I participated in my first classic car drive-in, someone stole the donation jar from diner we were at. :smith:
I knew it was going to be a white trash crackhead
what a fox
Yeah people spot on, it's drugs fault. That woman is innocent.
did you not read the article? she stole the jar to fuel her drug addiction. this is one of many reasons why drugs shouldn't be legal.

people will get their hands on it anyway.

You're the second person in this thread whose sarcasm detector is broken.
I bet she didn't know it was going to a baby with cancer, but it's still pretty awful
