i just bought a new motherboard and plugged everything in. it immediately takes me to windows error recovery, and when i press "start windows normally" or "safe mode", my computer just reboots and takes me back to error recovery. help and godspeed
You can't move an existing copy of Windows over to new hardware like that. Windows locks it self up when you make "significant hardware changes". You have to reformat and put a fresh copy of Windows on there. Use an Ubuntu Live CD and take everything important off of it, then wipe it clean.
i inserted my windows installation disc and chose to boot from the optical drive, but as soon as the vista colour scheme appears = computer freezes how do i just reinstall vista as it is?

Just swapping out stuff like you did doesn't sit well with Windows. Also, parts may be incompatible with your new mobo, did you check for compatibility?
