[editline]05:16PM[/editline]
cpu
actually new mobo assuming its so old it won't support ddr3 or pci-e
Not in a million years.
GTA4 needs a whole lot more than that PC can give, you'll be lucky to run source games on that.
You'll need a new CPU, which will most probably mean a new Motherboard and Ram, seeing as at the moment that will have DDR1 and AGP I bet. And a new video card.
To play GTA4 you need to upgrade the CPU more than the GPU. That game is a processor hungry bastard.
Ok I guess it's back to looking the I'll post if I find a better pc

post budget and location, I'll give you something
post budget and location, I'll give you something
under 500 and ontario canada
that's a really hard budget to work with for a prebuilt.
by build it they mean order the individual parts and assemble it yourself. it's not as hard as it sounds. if it doesn't fit it doesn't go there, no exceptions. It's much easier now than it used to be.
[editline]05:45PM[/editline]
and at this budget it's probably your best (read: only) option if you want to run GTA4.
darn can you point me in the direction for ordering in ontario then cheap i just tried adnd turned up with nothing
Windows XP genuine
No.

would that be able to run gta iv
judging by the CPU, it's a laptop, isn't it?
it might, if you're really really lucky. it would depend on the GPU too though.
Yeah it's a laptop
my Q9550 and GTX260 play it decently on medium settings. And you can't move parts from a laptop to a desktop, most of the time it's all soldered into the motherboard or otherwise incompatible. You may be able to play on the lowest possible settings with that laptop though, but I'm not really sure.
Also, what's the graphics card on that laptop? or is it integrated :ohdear:
Idk what it is but it runs fallout 3 perfectly so I thought I at least on medium on gta 4
80g hard drive
:smithicide:
I reckon that lap top might be able to run it on low...
Your desktop in the OP, need a completely new PC.
and the 500 budget you gave is going to be a bit of a scrape.

I ran GTA4 smoothly on a laptop with: C2D 2Ghz 3GB DDR3 Nvidia 9600GS 512mb on a mix of medium with some high at 1024 x 768, which looked fine. Is this the laptop? http://support.gateway.com/s/Mobile/2008/TempestFX/1015623R/1015623Rsp2.shtml the 2600 is a bit of a weak card to game properly on.

Even worse. You're not going to get anywhere with that integrated chipset, 1gb ram, and that processor.
