Well that;s my question... and yes I googled it. Well can we? I've seen many sources that say that we cannot because of the construction of our middle ear and that even deaf people can hear. But then there are other sources who say otherwise. I'm quite confused at this point so could anyone clear this up for me?

With that logic, we would go deaf simply from the pressure differentials when taking off and landing a plane. I think that would be on the order of several thousand decibels, it just has a frequency of .0004 Hz.
