Anna Brown, 29, died on the floor of a jail cell within an hour of being dragged from St. Mary’s Hospital. As blood clots spread from her legs to her lungs the hospital staff was busy refusing her further treatment. She was arrested because she refused to leave, she said she was in to much pain to stand. So she was carried to a squad car and driven to the Richmond Heights Police Department where officers carried her into a cell and laid her on the floor. She was found dead only minutes later.
Originally visiting the hospital due to a sprained ankle, she was unaware that the real problem was that her sprained ankle had caused blood clots. A doctor at St. Mary’s told police that she was okay to go, unwilling to properly treat the woman. At 7:33 in the video below, you can hear an officer in the cell after she died say, “we thought she was drug sick” but the autopsy revealed that she had not taken any drugs.
[del]Why the fuck did the police do this?[/del]
What is the reasoning behind this? So because she refused to leave the hospital, they assumed she was a druggie?
Stupid dicks, that's why America needs Obama's healthcare
Jesus fuck that's horrible. Why has it come to this?
I want to hear what they have to say for this.
Why the fuck did the police do this?
More concerning is why the doctors did it. The police just followed their orders. If the doctors want somebody off the premises of the hospital, the officers have to oblige. So why were the doctors so adamant to refuse her treatment?
that'll show her for not having insurance
Why are you guys blaming the police for it? It clearly says in the article that the doctor said she was fine, meaning the police acted on it as a case of misconduct, it's medical negligence, not the cops' fault in this case.
nope fuk da police
stupid woman. should have got a job and payed for health insurance. serves her right for being homeless
no one mentioned police
read op
Hope the doctors feel like shit for this.
Clearly private healthcare is a marvel of a system.

The doctor was the dick, not the cops.
That doesn't make sense, the doctors didn't even check her up, and told her that she was good to go?
Or was it the other way around that the doctor was greedy enough to let her die?
Get with the 1%
I can't imagine living in a country where I could be thrown out of a hospital for not having any money, it would be quite scary.
I know that wasn't the reason she was, but still.
American healthcare at work.
Pay to live system.
Good. More uninsured people dying on the streets means shorter waits in line at the hospital!

I hope they get fired, personally.
Doctors are trained subconsciously not to worry about patients dying, whether it be by accident or deliberate action such as not treating someone. They'd only feel guilt for their patient dying if they were an extremely wealthy person who could pay high dollars for the longest, most expensive possible treatments.

Bad doctors are not indigenous to any particular country.

but bad health-care systems is pretty much only an american thing.
Stupid dicks, that's why America needs Obama's healthcare
That's socialism and doesn't work.

Because she can't afford to pay them, duh. In Amurica, if you don't got no money, you don't get no treatment.
fuc da [del]police[/del] ~doctors~
This is what you get for being uninsured in America.
I seriously hope the Liberals milk this story for everything it's worth in the run-up to the election.
Not because it's something that should be manipulated for political propoganda and dishonour the memory of this woman, but because it will save lives if Obamacare is institued because of it.
People shouldn't die because they can't AFFORD to live.
How is the most preeminent country in the world this fucked up?

Another thing that's not indigenous to America: bad reading.
