I hope if they do this they don't just follow the game, I'd like to see them expand on the universe more. I really don't have high expectations though
I have to be skeptical about this as well as cautiously optimistic.
Game movies are never good, ever.
Game movies are never good, ever.
Well lets change that attitude with the best game-movie ever! [sp]Aw who am I kidding?[/sp]
Game movies are never good, ever.
the Silent Hill movie could have been a good adaptation if it just had competent writers. the set design and atmosphere were both especially great but then they just messed it up super hardcore with the plot (and the fact that it wasn't scary at all). i mean it LOOKED like the first game and they were fairly faithful to it initially so it's not like you can't do either of those things, you just need dudes who know how to actually tell a story and apparently no one in Hollywood wanted to do that.
Just dont make it about a retarded rebellion
Just as long as they don't fuck it up.
Screen Gems. It's going to suck.
Milla Jovovich as Ellie.
Well if Neil Druckmann is doing the screenplay then at least the writing shouldn't be an issue. The make-or-break for this film is going to be the casting though, with the make up being a close second. Would be amusing if they got Ellen Page for Ellie :v:
Last of us was basically a movie anyway What are they up to
Postal movie is the best VG movie
Milla Jovovich as Ellie.
Michelle Rodriguez as Joel
Game movies are never good, ever.
George Romero actually was in charge of a Resident Evil script. His was very close to the game, except that Chris was going to be like Johnny Depp in Lone Ranger.
Many games have a huge cinematographic potential, it's a shame that basically no game-movie has achieved actually being great and faithful to the original so far.
Postal movie is the best VG movie
For sure. How fucked up is it that when it comes to VG movies, Uwe fucking Boll has made the best one.
Screen Gems. It's going to suck.
Sam Raimi. It's going to be great.
Sam Raimi. It's going to be great.
"Hey Sam, do me a solid and sign onto my project as an associate producer, it's this stupid fucking video game movie and nerds love you so this might be good for marketing." "Okay."
Sam Raimi. It's going to be great.
Bruce Campbell as Joel. Calling it right now.
Sam Raimi. It's going to be great.
http://www.imdb.com/company/co0116611/ Unless they say HE HIMSELF is doing something with this, it's going to suck.
i hope if this movie is being made, that it doesnt follow joel and ellie's story. there genuinely is no reason to do that. should be a new story.
Bruce Campbell as Joel. Calling it right now.
Yes please Movie of the century, I don't even care if it's badly written.
Screen Gems? :suicide: Oh my god....someone shoot me please. Can't we give this project to people who will actually produce a watchable movie? I refuse to tolerate another resident evil movie. Especially given how well The Last of Us handled storytelling. I can't tolerate another shitty video game movie adaptation.

Ooh, a Last of Us movie! This should be- *sees Screen Gems as the studio* All hope lost.
It's a shame they handed it over to such a shit group though because TLOU is a perfectly filmable universe. The only difficulty would be to actually make clickers and bloaters look good which would require either very good CGI or very good makeup, but apart from that, it can be done. But this is implying anyone actually good would touch the project which is apparently not the case.
