I've been using the default Finale 2011 Garritan sounds for the past year or so, but I realized I could use something so much better. So I went investigating and found East West Quantum Leap, which seemed perfect for my needs. So, I obtained a copy of EWQLSO Silver, but ran into a couple of problems. Firstly, it requires a DAW, with which I have no experience with. Secondly, it looks terribly complicated to set up and use. Now I have heard you can actually use the EWQLSO libraries in Finale, so if this is the case then please let me know how to do so. If not though, please recommend me a DAW that would be suitable for importing Finale MIDI files. Thanks in advance.
A good DAW all around is probably Abelton or Reason but if you want something simple try FL Studio.
For your purposes, I'd check out Pro Tools or Digital Performer. EWQL can work with Finale, but Finale is first and foremost a notation program and therefore you won't have as much control over the playback as you will in a DAW. EWQL is pretty simple to use. The manual covers pretty much everything. If you'd like more help you can add me on Steam.
