Christopher Pyne says "C U next Tuesday" on air to Anthony Albanese on the Today Show
NOT only is federal Liberal frontbencher Christopher Pyne backtracking on expressing doubts about the strength of Tony Abbott’s leadership, he may also have to explain a thinly disguised profanity. By next Tuesday.
The clearly uncomfortable education minister was not responding well to the jibes from an obviously jubilant senior Labor figure Anthony Albanese.
He finished his spiel: “We’re there to serve the Australian people, and put their needs first – and last – all the way through,” he intoned.
As the interview came to a wrap, Anthony Albanese quipped: “See you with a new leader next week”.
Pyne couldn’t restrain himself, instantly retorting: “See you next Tuesday”.
Am I the only one that's never heard of anyone using this before? I think the media might be grasping at straws in this case.

It's pretty established.

not grasping at the straws, Chris knew exactly what he said

I hadn't heard about that saying as well but after finding the definition and watching the video it is blatantly obvious what he was saying.
Australian politics is so much more fun than Canadian politics. We just have Conservatives being slimy and dismantling environmental protections everywhere.
See you next Tuesday! <>

This doesn't mention the leadership spill

I'm from the US and even I've heard of this :v:

It's not fun, Liberal Party is turning our country into a laughing stock and is making Australia incredibly backwards.

I didn't say it was a good thing in that sense. At least your prime minister didn't vow to defend Israel no matter what. Or be the first to pull out of the Kyoto Protocol.

actually Abbott has one of the worst histories of environment policy, if not the worst in the western countries at the moment

I got this guy mixed up with Christopher Pine (the actor) and it wasn't quite so funny at first.

general mistakes? Kevin or Julia for this matter aren't dumb cunts who didn't know what they were saying, Kevin and Julia had valuable highlights in their political life
Kevin's massive cult following, the sorry day speech
and Julia's misogyny speech which spoke large volumes which are still mentioned today

Yes they were lmao.
Julia's misogyny speech was simply for popularity and she hired a nice script writer with intent of not losing popularity and her position, which she inevitably did. Same with Kevin's sorry speech.

She was called a witch, a bitch and a mans bitch and so forth.

She did not make that speech for popularity, considering the fact Tony Abbott at the time was condemning people in parliament holding sexist views, and yet he affiliated himself with people like them and past blunders he has made/said (http://www.news.com.au/national/a-look-back-at-most-controversial-tony-abbott-moments-after-prime-minister-apologises-for-winking/story-fncynjr2-1226927063505). She was angry and insulted, I have no idea where you got that bizarre opinion, I think you should stop listening to Murdoch's media.
Leave it up to the Aussies to come up with new and inventive ways to say "cunt."

Considering it's even a Postal 2 achievement:

I find it strange how you claim that labor turned us into a laughing stock by using footage of Gillard tripping over (Because its not like its a common thing to happen or anything) and Rudd giving a friendly gesture to a friend (Bush).
May I present the counter argument: Things Tony actually said.

list of things Kevin and Julia said that were remotely offensive:

you have the politicians that barricaded a door, sharpened flagpoles into spears and prepared to fight to the death to protect your prime minister. Embrace it.
list of things Kevin and Julia said that were remotely offensive:
Yeah to be honest, Kevin Rudd just always kind of striked me as a big nerd. Especially in that video above. Tony abbot seems to always be saying dumb shit every week.
Would it be the same if he had said "See you next Thursday?"
list of things Kevin and Julia said that were remotely offensive:
Is this satire
Kevin has said a lot more offensive things than Julia, you can't group them together.
Would it be the same if he had said "See you next Thursday?"
probably not because the phrase is see you next tuesday.
Is this satire

I'd like to see some proof
Would it be the same if he had said "See you next Thursday?"
the saying is See you next Tuesday, but it's one of those phrases where people who've never heard it before use Thursday through naivety, people tend to 'get it' though.
