He initially observes and later participates in philosophical discussions of issues such as reality, free will, the relationship of the subject with others, and the meaning of life. Along the way the film touches on other topics including existentialism, situationist politics, posthumanity, the film theory of André Bazin, and lucid dreaming itself. Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy reprise their characters from Before Sunrise in one scene.
not much to say, it's so full of content and really nothing you can sum up, it's a soup of ideas, philosophy. probably a bad thread but I love this movie so much, i wanted to get the word out.
I made a thread about this movie a little while back. Really great movie, but just as a warning it really doesn't focus on plot or characters much. It's really just philosophical dwindling accompanied by pretty, and really fitting visuals. so you'd better just know what you're getting into.
One thing it had wrong was 'mind time'---that 12 minutes (was it 12 minutes?) in the brain could last forever. A human thinks & dreams in real time. On the other hand, I recall once having a dream where I saw the world from two separate perspectives at once. It was bizarre. I suppose that means '360 vision' just might be possible in the subconscious.
I read it as "Wanking Life"
then u r gay
I remember watching the Telescopic evolution section. Been meaning to watch this.
This is the movie I watch if I need to relax.

I've always loved discussing and listening to discussions about philosophy. An entire movie about it? Sounds legit.
An entire movie about it? Sounds legit.
It sounds legit, but it's just something nice to watch and listen to, it's not really that in-depth.
This is the kind of movie you hope someone walks in on you watching so they can feel totally lost.

I read this as "Walking Life" and I was like "is this a parody of the Walking Dead?"
Visuals remind me of A Scanner Darkly
Visuals remind me of A Scanner Darkly
It's the same director.
