As conceived, the new series is based on the show’s popular Saul Goodman character with the working title Better Call Saul. Plans call for Saul to be a one-hour prequel that will focus on the evolution of the popular Saul Goodman character before he ever became Walter White’s lawyer. The possibility of a Saul Goodman spinoff series was revealed last April. With the recent ratings hike that Breaking Bad has been enjoying, it has felt like more and more of a distinct possibility, as the network would want to capitalize on the audience interest in the show, and characters, as quickly as possible. Alan Sepinwall of Hitfix reports that deals still need to be made for Gilligan and Gould, and it is currently unclear if Gilligan will be showrunning the series. Better Call Saul is also likely to go straight to series, with no pilot.
Isn't this really old news?
I still want one based around Mike's time as a cop, maybe including the story from Half Measure
I'd like to see a trilogy of 4 part mini-series that detail the lives of some of the main characters before the events of breaking bad.
i'll give him a caul
i'll give him a caul
stop sauling around
Bob Odenkirk is a great actor.
Isn't this really old news?
It was rumored, it just got confirmed
so they confirmed that saul lives, then that's okay with me i suppose
so they confirmed that saul lives, then that's okay with me i suppose
read the post
so they confirmed that saul lives, then that's okay with me i suppose
Its a prequel
so they confirmed that saul lives, then that's okay with me i suppose
Well it's a prequel. That confirms just about jack-nothing.
Better call Huell
I'd like to see a trilogy of 4 part mini-series that detail the lives of some of the main characters before the events of breaking bad.
Would be cool to see Jesse in Walt's high school chem class.
More Huell = amazing

Please for the love of god make it include Huell and Kuby. It would be the best thing ever if it has them in it.
Please for the love of god make it include Huell and Kuby. It would be the best thing ever if it has them in it.
Considering its a prequel, yeah, Huell is pretty much confirmed. [editline]11th September 2013[/editline] Kuby, i dunno, probably.
Saul is an awesome character but honestly a series on Mike would've been more interesting.
More Huell? I'm reasonably happy
Isn't this really old news?
This seems to be a proper confirmation of it, not just an idea.
I will watch the living shit out of this.
I still want one based around Mike's time as a cop, maybe including the story from Half Measure
Mike is old. How could they do that unless he just recently became an enforcer for Gus?
I still want one based around Mike's time as a cop, maybe including the story from Half Measure
Yes please, he's honestly by far my favorite character.
Mike is old. How could they do that unless he just recently became an enforcer for Gus?
Uhh, by going back to the time before he was an enforcer for Gus? What do you mean they can't do it because he's old? That's the point of a prequel.
Uhh, by going back to the time before he was an enforcer for Gus? What do you mean they can't do it because he's old? That's the point of a prequel.
Meaning, if they go back in time, he'll have to be younger. He is old as balls. Different actor?
Mike is old. How could they do that unless he just recently became an enforcer for Gus?
Introduction of him to Saul, flashbacks, etc. They mentioned that Mike had a, "dramatic" ending to his career as a cop, and I really want them to flesh that out
Introduction of him to Saul, flashbacks, etc. They mentioned that Mike had a, "dramatic" ending to his career as a cop, and I really want them to flesh that out
I understand from a plot perspective what they could do, I'm talking the actor. Johnathan Banks is Mike.
Awesome! Saul is one of the funniest characters BB has to offer and I'd love to see more on him.
Meaning, if they go back in time, he'll have to be younger. He is old as balls. Different actor?
Either that or they could attempt the same magic they pulled on Hector Salamanca in the flashback scenes. The dude easily looked thirty, forty years younger even though it was the same actor. Though I guess that would be harder to do with Mike because he isn't a wheelchair bound mute, and thus a lot harder to make him appear younger, but I'm sure they could pull something off. Hell they could just make his departure from the police force not really that long ago, it isn't that hard to make someone look 20 or so years younger with a little make up and some hair.
