Christians have been crying about the mark of the beast stuff since the entire religion took off and they finally bothered to write their holy texts. Now some of them cry about RFID instead of barcodes, mostly because a few people have gone and gotten a chip planted into them subdermally. I do find it funny that they bitch about stuff like that, that hasn't caught on at all, and nobody's even tried it, but they don't bitch about people using credit cards with a magnetic stripe or electronic chip on them, that enables governments and other organizations to track them everywhere where they make a purchase.

Well, it has to do with "taking the mark of the devil" just a bit more insane/dumb twist on it. It is a large part of the whole "Jesus coming back, it's soon the end of the world" thing. There is even movies about it. (I think it was the old Left Behind series, but not sure. My grandma forced me to watch them).

You do have to agree that the possibility of having your bank card actually inside you is pretty clever and is a likely thing to happen in the next decade or so. Just imagine instead of reaching for your wallet you just move your hand over a scanner. The only issue is people getting their hands chopped off for their money. Which brings in the solution of having the forehead one. No one is gonna tote around a head to get money from it. The whole idea would completely remove the concept of physical currency and allow us to move towards a credits system that would be more applicable to space migration. Wouldn't that be awesome?

Have to say if barcodes are the mark of the beast intending to enslave us all then be prepared to get frustrated because if it's anything like the grocery store I work at then you're bound to have all kinds of incorrect ring ups and not codes that aren't scanning or in the system at all.
