Wow, stuff really is going badly for Oculus. Though I can't say that I feel sorry for them.

At best case scenario he would just be a "mascot" for the company, a PR person, but since he messed that up, he doesn't have a real place anymore. I'm sorry for the guy, in the end, he and Carmack started all this, but now he will be completely forgotten.
Wow, stuff really is going badly for Oculus. Though I can't say that I feel sorry for them.
Lets be fair, I'm not sure he has any practical skills that Oculus needs, if at all On the business side of things Facebook can provide people who probably could do way more on the tech side of things he's pretty smart to have compiled the original rift but this guy isn't exactly a team of world class engineers in human form, like they have already can't say I'd have done anything better than he did. I'd have become a pretty face and that's it and then become expendable.

Problem is that Palmer didn't seem to have much of a role there any more. He used to be in a sort of evangelist role but after ruining his image with the whole election debacle, he was no longer suited for that either. So what do you do when you have a fuckton of money and a company that no longer has a need for you? Something else.
